Braves are not trading Acuna. He's on a very team friendly contract. Teams would have to give an arm and a leg to get him, and even that might not be enough.

Yep, I think he is under team control through 2028 if you include the team options. They wouldn’t trade him until 2027 at the earliest.

They should have traded Ozuna before his value went down. Expiring contract. Probably still should try and get something unless AA thinks he can re-sign him and hopes he returns to form.

Some oddities I noticed looking at the standings:

Currently only 6 NL teams are on a “winning streak” but of those 6, only 2 of them are longer than 2 games. Brewers and Giants each are on a 4 game winning streak…

The entire AL Central is currently on a winning streak…

The Dodgers, Giants, Padres, and Diamondbacks all have a positive run differential and are a combined +111. The Cubs have a +119 run differential…

I think some contender will trade for him at the deadline. He could really help offensive needy teams like the Giants and Padres.

Yeah I’m still not sold on the kid from Rutgers coming in. We had better teams whenever we had Tony’s guys straight out of high school and filled needs through the portal. Now it’s just another mercenary sport. It’s all a money game now and it’s sad to see.

I’ll still watch it but the same enthusiasm and involvement will go away. It won’t come back for me unless enforceable contracts come to fruition. It’s too hard for fans to build an attachment with guys that are only going to be one year rentals. We want guys that are at least going to give us 2 years.

Totally get it. I'm going to miss the days of the feel good stories of walkons. And those that stay for 4 or 5 years. Hard to cheer for a mercenary. But, I'll stll watch and make time to do it. I'll probably cull the likes of watching UT play Tennessee Tech, western ky, or akron.....got some other 💩 to do in the fall.
