He normally gets 7 days between starts. This would be a big change. I doubt they pitch Doyle after 27 pitches on Friday plus he’s a top 10 pick. No way they do anything to jeopardize his future IMHO.

Snead is a multi innings relief pitcher who is conditioned for it. Heck, Snead pitched in virtually every CWS game last year. Apples and oranges. Doyle is a starter who has pitched once every 7 days for years, and likely thrown 80-110 pitches every week.

Yes, it was a weird quirk. He signaled by turning his head right or left more often than with his arms and hands. I noticed it.

Nolan Ryan would agree with you. 🍊😀👊. That’s obviously your opinion and could easily be correct, but it‘s certainly not a fact. It’s certainly some level of risk that is heightened by the fact that Doyle is a 1st rounder (likely top 10 pick), and CTV doesn’t want to jeopardize his health in any way. Now if Doyle insists on taking the ball today, I bet he would be on a strict pitch count. Personally, I’d love to see him start the suspended game.
