OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Give a stop at Top of the Hill at the corner of 86 and Franklin St. if you want a local brew and decent meal with a nice view of the evening. That is, if the storms have passed.

Otherwise, I *guess* they might be putting you up at the Carolina Inn for the evening?

Enjoy your stay.

If you run into any trouble in NC, help is but a VN Post away.....

Edit: I checked. with. some friends at CHPD re: @CobbWebb71 @cobbwebb0710 , whoever. he is now, in whatever iteration, and they say the restraining order from the KD's is still in effect, so you should be safe.

I will pass the talk info to the boy, that sounds right down his alley, if he doesn't have class at that hour. Thanks for the info.
thenthere's Cats Cradle in Carrboro

I suggested you NOT climb.

Bad form for anyone with ties to the other UT to go anywhere near a bell tower.

BTW, I showed this to my wife (a Tar He’ll, whom I met in CH.). She said, “what did you say to that guy that made him flip you the bird?”

🤣🤣🤣

Walk by Kenan stadium, just beyond is Boshamer (baseball). Two pretty venues for college athletics.

The Old Well and the old. Chapel Hill cemetery across from Carmichael is neat too. Bonus points if you locate Charles Kuralt’s grave.
Good advice on Bell Towet
Kenan is favorite ACC football stadium
never fond of Carmichae; because of the..press box

On the new podcast, Ben McKee said after one of the errors on Saturday, two people had to be separated in the Tennessee dugout. Said he wouldn’t specify if it was players or coaches, and it didn’t get physical, but it was a screaming match. Also said not to make a mountain out of a mole hill with it.
A nothing burger IMHO. Families argue and when you add the intense competition of a SEC game, voices will deservedly be raised. As long as it doesn’t get physical, no harm/no foul. I’m surprised McKee even brought it up.

him and will brought it up. Mckee said it could've been why they didn't have any juice and the vibe was off. Heflin was questioning why it didn't fire them up instead. I'm paraphrasing, better to listen on your own. it was about 10 minutes or so out of the hour and a half.

Well, if you’re paid to make appearances at a local dealership, for example, and you’ve transferred two time zones away, there are going to be issues.
Could still be a spokesman for the dealership's trade-in allowances...
or if they offered car rental services.

Though somehow I think an appearance in effigy as a piñata would attract more coverage and potential customers lining up to give it a whack.

Question would be, do you fill the piñata with Goobers, Airheads, or Payday bars?

No, I heard it. McKee brought it up and Will said he “hadn’t heard about the family feud”.

exactly why I said to listen on your own lol, I usually listen while doing something else. hadn't even heard that part.
My point is a former player like Will Heflin would never bring up something that happened privately in the dugout. Shouting matches happen all the time and I’m surprised that McKee sensationalized it.

I caught that and was surprised he even mentioned it.

But, honestly, my reaction was "Good, I'm glad someone was pissed about what's been happening." Don't really care who it was and why it was.

That many hypercompetitive 20 somethings in a dugout plus nutjob coaches (i mean that in the best way)...there's gonna be heat when it gets bumpy and when jobs are on the line.

Last night's dugout looked and acted like a team that had aired out the room and was moving on.

Well one of the Tennessee media guys are spreading the rumor or truth.🤷

Chris Low mentioned it was a possibility that Merklinger was asking for more money. If Low says it then it has legs,
Unfortunately. I absolutely trust Chris Low. Not that he isn’t above being duped, but I can’t recall when he has ever been catfished.
