I think sometimes you have to put the “stats” to the side and look at the situation from a different viewpoint.
If Scott Rolen is in the hall, Murphy and Mattingly are HOFers, stats be danged.

i got no opinion about that. Not that familiar with any of those players. But you compared them favorably to Eddie Murray. That's why I posted the stats. IMHO, those stats say none of the players you mentioned can compare with him.
