Mostly makes me think of Eagles fans that complain they didn’t win by 28 or higher since I recall the criticism of Eagles fans in the UrinatingTree video about the Eagles.
It was pretty damn hilarious a guy seriously said no movies should ever be remade because it’s utterly inane.
If I recall right that was a posted answer for which movies should be remade in a movie group on Facebook that has questions about movies.
I say it’s utterly inane because the entire point of movie remakes is to improve not great movies that can be improved with remakes that don’t have the flaws of a bad movie or a terrible movie.
Judge Dredd is a freakin awful movie that completely fails to be as badass as Robocop by 10 billion miles.
Dredd is a great remake that succeeds at having a serious tone, showing a great depiction of Dredd including mostly he’s wearing the helmet, the amazing gun he has is not under-shown, has an entertaining coherent story, great action scenes, and an entertaining main antagonist.
Tomb Raider is a great remake that is a faithful adaptation of the famous video game series including a Lara Croft that has limitations because it’s set in a realistic world, and is a Indiana Jones style movie because Lara Croft is in in the Indian Jones style action adventure genre.
The awful Tomb Raider movies are not faithful adaptations since she’s searching for extraordinary objects that fit in a Doctor Who universe or Harry Potter which does not fit the Tomb Raider universe at all.
Also Lara Croft is a Mary Sue that has no struggles succeeding so she’s a very boring ridiculous overpowered character, and never shown she has any flaws she struggles with.
Also the movie shows ridiculous action scenes that makes it look like it’s set in the same world as The Matrix. That doesn’t fit at all because the Tomb Raider series is set in a realistic world where the characters are bound by the laws of physics so they can’t perform any extraordinary actions equal to what Neo can do or other characters from The Matrix movie series.
Also Doom Annihilation is a very faithful adaptation of the Doom video game series including has great looking demons that are invading Mars after a portal gets opened.
Doom is an awful adaptation of the Doom video game series including most of the movie is boring, multiple action scenes can’t see what’s happening because of the dark locations, an unforgivable plot hole because of terrible writing , no demons invading Mars, etc.
The movie fails to be an exciting Aliens style movie by 10 trillion miles. It’s a poor man’s Aliens including doesn’t have much likable protagonists, most of the movie is boring, you won’t be sad seeing multiple protagonists die since only 2 Space Marines are likable characters, etc.
