@mad4vols calls you an "old timer."

Damn I must be dusty. I went to a game when Whited was coaching. Hell, my dad paid Fredi Gonzalez for hitting lessons for me and my brother in high school. (Yes, that Fredi Gonzalez). Dad couldn't figure out why we couldn't hit like that younger kid from the summer league teams, Todd Somebody-or-other. :rolleyes:

I see I’m very wrong because Vanderbilt a great ranked team was upset by a good Nebraska team 5-3 in Minnesota.
Nebraska has found gold because of getting a signature win before 30 regular season games got played.

Even in Minnesota I had no confidence that Nebraska could contain a great Vanderbilt team that can easily score more than 5 runs to 3 runs.

I’m an old soul whenever it comes to baseball. I would consider myself old school thinking with the sport at least. That’s awesome you got to be around Fredi. Nobody was hitting like Helton 🤣

Tennessee has returned to being a great team equal to what they were in the Helton era mainly because of a great Manager that has been able to assemble great players, and knows how to make the Volunteers very likely to prosper on the field with great hitting, bunting, a rotation of solid reliable pitchers, and good fielding.
Also the Baseball players play with confidence because of seeing the fruitful results of a proven successful system for consistently winning games in a regular season, and in tournaments.

I’m very happy that Vanderbilt a likable in state rival has loyal fans that get to usually see a fruitful successful Baseball team because they haven’t had much prosperous years as a Football team, and the Men’s Basketball team while not a perennial laughingstock has never been equal to Gonzaga, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, or any other great College Basketball team that usually gets to the March Madness Tournament.
