OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Wow, I have to step away for a few day and I come back and the thread has morphed into a braves circle jerk. That's just too sad.I'm old enough to remember when the braves had to give tickets away yo games at Fulton County Stadium and the people who showed up wore bags over their faces so the could not be identified. Braves baseball fans are as bad as Bama football fans. Just a bunch of front runners who forget the times when bot program stank like skunk poop.
I was born in 1991 so all I have known is good baseball except for a small down period 😁

I'm looking forward to see if some of the guys that people aren't expecting get drafted higher than expected and maybe some who get drafted that no one expected. I always look at the kids my sons have played with and against so the ones throughout the SEC that we played against are interesting to me. Every year I'm surprised by the players that get their name called that no one thinks or talks about. We have several guys, especially the ones who have no time left in college that may get their name called and get a chance to play. Cheering for Redmond, Luc, and Evan to get their name called.

Everyone excited for the draft this Sunday? I’m really hoping we get three Vols taken in the 1st round.

Nah ... I'll just wait & read all about it here or in my local paper. All I'm interested in is who the Braves draft & what other prospects they get during the day.
The way things have gotten over the last few years ... my team(s) usually get players I like & then trade them off to some other team & a player I've never heard of & you never hear about them or see them play ball again. So, I don't get very excited anymore about former Vols players being drafted & where they go. After a Vols player leaves school, I lose interest in them.

Redmond and Luc should get drafted. Hoping Evan gets in there too. I hope they all get drafted. As you have stated, it is impossible to predict these things but based on the last two seasons they should be drafted. It will be a happy moment for all those guys and their families. Even if they don’t get drafted they can still try to get on a minor league team.

Get drafted by the Seattle Mariners and they disappear into the black hole forever.

Yep, that franchise has had some all time great players but nothing to show for it. Griffey, Randy Johnson, Ichiro are the first that come to mind.

They never show Seattle ball games in this region. And I'm not gonna stream to watch them play on the West coast only just bc a former Vols player is playing for them. If a former Vols player is playing the Braves then I might be really interested & see how they do. I loved watching Todd Helton when he was playing for the Colorado Rockies.

Olson w/a solo home run. Chip says Braves need 4 runs to tie. He's so smart.

Chip says ... The Mets pitcher enjoys a 4 run lead in Atlanta. He's killing it w/smarts today.
