Being “patriotic” doesn’t absolve someone of appearing to be a douchebag. Maybe he was on good behavior that particular day you saw him. As @W.TN.Orange Blood stated, I have heard more stories of him disrespecting other teams. There is a reason why he is so disliked.I thought I had a similar opinion until I saw him in St. Louis his last year with the Nats. I saw a four-game series and sat directly behind the Nats’ dugout. I was really impressed with the way he interacted with people. He was one of two players with the Nats who actually walked out to the 3rd base line when the national anthem was played. Got some jawing from rival fans but still stayed classy.
