OldTimer’s Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

I’m pretty sure every school threw their best pitcher multiple times per week. That’s what we did too. But most of the pitchers I played with also played another sport during the offseason so they weren’t throwing year round. Everyone was a big proponent of the “John Smoltz” philosophy. If you were stretched out enough you could easily pitch 3 times per week. I’m not that old but it was a different time, back when pitchers threw complete games and be ready to pitch the next game of a double header too if need be.
Glad to hear that. He was a great guy. Very quiet, unassuming, but confident. He would give me this smile like "we're about to f these guys up" in the dugout. But when he went into the game he was super focused. Every batter's worst nightmare. No one could hit him, basically. He didn't play any other sports, but he did not pitch year round. So that's good. We got to be good friends. When he was in the game, I just loved baseball.

Good for him! I don't watch/care about The NBA...don't know who he is...but ANYBODY that can get SOMEBODY to PAY $$$ like THAT...for playing a game...I've got MAD Respect for...PROPS!
He was a one and done at Kentucky. Led the conference in assists as a freshman. Always been a pretty good player in the league but I guess everyone is making bank now.

This map is so FOS. Tennessee is not a big Yankee fan state. Its Braves or Cardinals.

Yeah I’m not buying that at all. Tennessee has always been Braves/Reds/some Cards. Even the Carolina’s are Braves/Reds. Also find it hard to believe Hawaii is Astros. They would be Dodgers.

That SoB must be doing the Puff Puff Pass thing at work these days
and forgot his work assignment.

This is probably more accurate. Louisiana is tough one with Astros/Rangers/Cards/Braves nearby than Yankees. And Ohio is probably pretty split between Reds/Indians. Other than that I think this is probably a more accurate map of MLB fanbase.

What's wrong with Virginia? And Pennsylvania? Also, the whole south (Florida doesn't count). And Louisiana....What's wrong?
