Maybe, but Alaska is in the broadcasting territory for the Mariners so it would make sense for Seattle to be their team of choice, maybe even the Dodgers. Louisiana is always the hardest for me to gauge with all the surrounding franchises. Seems like they probably root for quite a few teams. Florida has always been the oddball of the South because Tampa and Miami didn’t have teams until the 90s. Pretty much Yankees or Braves were teams of choice. It is going to be a long time before that state embraces either of those franchises though due to how little they spend. If the Rays were to win a couple of World Series it might start to change but they are going to have to spend on players if they want a fanbase.I can see the oilfield tie in to Alaska, though.
I would add some Cardinal Red to the state of TN. (at least W.TN.)This is probably more accurate. Louisiana is tough one with Astros/Rangers/Cards/Braves nearby than Yankees. And Ohio is probably pretty split between Reds/Indians. Other than that I think this is probably a more accurate map of MLB fanbase.

I can see Virginia being a Yankees state. They are kind of a midline north/south state and the Yankees have always been popular so that makes sense for me. Pennsylvania has the Phillies and Pirates. The South belongs to the Braves, always has, always will. I mentioned Louisiana before, but I don’t really know who their team is? I would lean more towards the Texas teams but I don’t knowWhat's wrong with Virginia? And Pennsylvania? Also, the whole south (Florida doesn't count). And Louisiana....What's wrong?
Eff the Braves, and their fans. Hell, none of the 'fans' I've talked to know who Bob Horner is. That map should have shown PA split in two. Screw Philly too. I’m a Braves fan but wasn’t alive during that time. I think everyone’s guy was Dale Murphy back then. Everything I’ve seen about Horner though is he could hit dongs with the best of them. Braves only made the playoffs once while Horner was there and only 3 winning seasons. That’s probably my guess why few people remember himEff the Braves, and their fans.
