OldTimer’s Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

No it’s not. I’m not sure about you guys but NO ONE is going to take shots a my young kids.
So yeah, I am a little pissed right now tbh.
If someone standing in front of me basically called my son a douchebag, one of us is taking an ass whoopin!
I’ll check back in later.
“Basically”. Never called your son a douchebag. Called Bryce one. Get your facts straight.

And yet my son opens the door for random people everywhere we go, hugs people he sees crying, helps pick up stuff people have dropped on the floor, helps his classmates with their math, helps the teacher cleanup the classroom. He hasn’t been polluted with the real world assholes yet thankfully but at least I’m doing something right so far.
I would suggest you also keep him far away from your self righteous behavior on this site. Otherwise, sounds like you’ve managed to raise a fine young man. Congratulations.

He has no idea about this site and doesn’t care about sports nearly as much as I do. He will put his energy into more important things than sports whenever he grows up and will hopefully be a more productive member of society, which I am thankful for.

My twins don't GAF about sports these days.

Good for them. The older I get the more detached from sports I get. It becomes more and more a waste of time each passing year. In the grand scheme of things, me watching sports doesn’t really do much for me as a human being. It’s just a form of entertainment.

That's why I DGAF for the NBA Golf Tennis WNBA & others bc there's only
24 hours in a day & I'm too old now to keep up w/players on what teams now.

Sadly, the "entertainment" factor has diminished over the years to the point that it's simply not the game we used to know. Rules, attitudes, etc have devolved almost all the major sports. Glad the players are "getting theirs", but there's not the connection there once was....at least for me. Far too many "individuals" in team sports these days. All in all, I guess it's better than nothing. Know I'll get the cranky old man blow back, but folks my age remember the golden years and what it was like. Younger folks, never having those experiences, won't feel a loss over something they never knew. Guess that's a blessing for the younger fans.

90s-2000s sports were the golden years for me personally. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that those were my middle/high school years and was a lot more invested. Especially whenever you first have a child, your priorities change and sports take a backseat. Even so, I still very much enjoyed watching sports in the 2010s. But this new era of transferring all the time, a lot of times after only 1 semester, it loses its appeal for me. I never thought I would say this but professional sports are almost becoming more appealing than college sports.
