I fully believe that is true, but 'good enough to' win a title is very different than 'will.'

Here's an interesting stat: Since 1988, all but three of the NCAA Tournament winners were ranked in the top 12 of the AP poll 7 weeks before the first round of the tournament.

So, you want to be in the top 12 right around now, and that's where we are, but that leaves 11 other teams who could also win it (and even more if it's one of those outlier years).

I'll never forget that the Vols were ranked 10th starting the year they won the 1997 NC.

Yep, and even though I had no connection to the Vols at that time, I'll never forget watching the 'Stoerner fumbles' play. Crazy things happen in sports, which is a big part of why we love it!
