Marques Pair was recruited by Kiffin, was under the Dooley cloud for 3 years and is finishing his career as UT under Jones. He is witnessing the climb climb back to the top of SEC. Think of all the position, and total coaches as well as players came through the program for the past 5 years.
He's a big ol boy at 6'5 327lbs. He's also a communications major. He might be more interested in the degree than transfering.
exactly, i still dont understand why some people love to diss the kids that are on our team... people dont understand all the hard work these young men go thru day after day. Maybe he just loves the University! He earned a free education and the right to run through the T multiple times.
The joke is on you.
You say that like he couldn't have earned that degree anywhere else. "Communications" is about as generic a degree as you can earn.
Maybe he just loves Tennessee THAT much and would rather stay here and be a backup than go somewhere else and play. If that's the case I can respect that. I just find it odd that anyone would willingly sign up to spend 5 years in a college football program and not play.
I'm amazed that Pair never transfered. I figured at some point he would want to go somewhere and play. He has good size. Not sure about his strength or skill level but surely he could have transferred to a lower tier divsion 1 school or an FCS school and started.
Like graduating from one of the top 20 juggling schools in the country, but ok.
And you know this because? ... you got your degree there and couldn't get a job?
Actually, I'm calling BS on your comparison. I have a friend who actually did get his BS from UTK College of Communication, used what he learned there to start a global communications training business which made him and his lovely wife a fortune. They now have a lovely 50 acre "farm" outside Washington DC where he writes tunes by his stocked lake while he watches his experimental crops grow then records them in his Nashville quality sound studio in the basement where he has a collection of about 50 electric guitars, many worth over what most folks earn in a year. Some other buds also got their degrees from UTK Communications and have done well. It's a good enough school. You just be makin' nonsense wi' alla that trash talk about jigglin'. But then mehbe it your brain be jigglin' from jugglin' to many spliff an bongs.
Whether or not a degree is useless or not has nothing to do with one outlier who happened to do well with it. If you read the statistical data on mean salaries, and read into how much a joke the coursework is... And still decide that is for you...
Well...
And if you must know, I am a third year Mechanical Engineering student at TTU.
Please tell me what classes a communication major takes and why they are not helpful in the real world
Nerd too bad you lack people and commication skills
To save some time, how about you try to convince me why the coursework is useful, and I will tell you why it isn't.
Not true. But no reason to argue with you about it. I'm going to graduate with three internships under my belt and essentially have my pick of the litter as far as employment goes.
Also, for someone who harps about the importance of "Communication", it's kind of ironic that you can't spell it correctly, don't you think?
