Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy interviewed by Currie

A lot of OSU fans seem to believe the reports that Tennessee is willing to double his salary, and a lot of them can't blame him if he accepts. Some seem hurt that he would leave, but aren't mad at the fact he would take more money to go elsewhere.

It's going to be Gundy. Gundy has been looking for a way out for a long time.

I am totally confused by this. (doubling his salary to get him)

well due to the way Currie and Haslam has screwed up everything, you have to overpay for a good coach. Who cares if it's haslam money anyways, let him pay.

Or how about this...UT taking interviews for $8.4MM. All the sudden line will be longer for interviews, and dumpster fire looks more like a cookout.

I'm in. Hes a good coach. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to find one. Maybe alittle overpaid, but I'm fine with it. Gotta do what you gotta do.

At this point, Mike Gundy would be a home run hire. I just don’t understand why the administration would believe he’s not trying to get a pay raise. Only way Gundy ends up here is if OK State wants him out. I’ll gladly take him though
Okie St fans only want 1 thing: To beat OU. They couldn't care less is they went 1-10 as long as they beat OU. T. Boone is like your avg Okie St fan-he doesn't care if you win 10 games if you don't beat OU, and Mayfield has more wins in Bedlam than Gundy does. Gundy also hates being second fiddle to OU all the time and he has a strained relationship with the AD (Mike Holder). That's why I think we have a legit shot imo.

One OSU message board is already mulling over possible coaching replacements. They don't seem to be to upset that he is leaving. Just judging by the one thread, a lot of them are ready for a new coach.

Those fans are in the minority. Anyone who watched Okie state before Gundy was hired knows he is the best thing to happen there. I've NEVER heard anything but praise about him, even from sooner fans.

We wont have to worry about the Haslams anymore either :)

Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam's voice is heard for the first time today in federal court via secret recordings of a training session for staffers at which fraud was taught. I have the latest on @knoxnews Facebook now, story tonight

The damage is already going to be done after this hire.

Gundy is a proven winner and current head coach at a power 5 school. Plus, he has a mullet and is famous for the "I'm an man!" speech. Would be a good fit and a great hire, IMO.

Yep he has his players back, tough coach but players love him.

Tennessee making a play for Mike Gundy, and the two sides are scheduled to meet today. There have already been phone conversations. Vols went after Gundy in 2013 and will have to pay big money to pry him away from his alma mater.
