no that tells you haslam and sexton were controlling this whole thing from the word go, and now that we're this hot and heavy with Gundy, who represents himself, then throw in the report that fulmer supposedly is now involved with candidate selection, and i think you can assume there's been some sort of power shift at the middle and upper level boosters, not named haslam.

GUNDY? REALLY? Coach Mullet doesn't know defense and that's what's needed in the SEC

UT's coaching search is like a freshman's dating strategy. Given zero chance of landing a first class girl they go ugly early.....Setting up a lifetime of disappointment.

UTAD - Grow some stones and sell what we all know is a P5/First Class program.

It just blows my mind that this whole debacle could have been avoided so easily if this report is true. I would have taken Gundy over almost anyone we were considering. It's like they didn't even try.

I apologize if this has been mentioned already, I haven’t gone through all the pages yet but with Gundy just getting an extension wouldn’t his buyout be pretty large and if we are offering 8.4 million why have so many passed on this job?

$8.4 million for Gundy? Two thoughts...

1.) Tennessee isn’t considered a top job if you have to pay such a premium.
2.) Tennessee will regain that status because they are willing to pay whatever it takes.

Yeah who would want a coach with 5 10+ win seasons and a P5 conference championship this decade :banghead2:

They also have these wonderful things called defensive coordinators who can coach up a defense too.

He is playing in the Big 12... No one plays defense out that way... Charlie Strong tried and you see where that got him. Give this man a good DC and and watch him go to work

situationally speaking, yeah, this would be a walk off grand slam.

i still have doubts he actually leaves. but it does appear they're fairly serious.

and hiring him would be a good sign from a power broker standpoint as well.

I hope he enjoys his pay raise I am sure it will be a nice one. NO WAY HE IS LEAVING , NOT A CHANCE, NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, SAME ODDS AS GRUDEN
