How many SEC championships have the Vols won in recent years? I can't believe we're seriously pissing on this potential hire. I can understand being upset about SchiaNO and Brohm type hires but Gundy get out of here.

If he's interviewing or trying for a raise, he's probably the best we're going to get from outside UT ties. Here's how the interview should go, but we probably used talent model goofy questions like: Tell me about a time when you had a challenge, and how did you handle it?

Question 1: Are you really interested? (YES)
Question 2: Have you been associated with Penn State? (NO)
Question 3: When can you start?

So if we are supposedly meeting with him in Dallas, then why are we sending a plane to Stillwater this afternoon? For other officials to meet with his officials/lawyers/agent?

So we are willing to offer Gundy 8.4 million but we couldn't get the deal done with Mullen who took 6 million to coach Florida?

That tells me that they didn't even try to get Mullen and now they are trying to buy their way out of a mess.

Gundy is a proven coach who built Oklahoma State into the mini-powerhouse it is today. He can recruit at an acceptable level and certainly develop talent, if after all that has happened we can get him here for under 8 million or so, I say we take him in a heartbeat.

Anything is better than Schiano, but this will shut critics up instantly. Who in their right mind is going to try and defend that Schiano is a better hire than Gundy?

I would love to see talking heads attempt that one.

How many 10 win seasons does he have... how many have we had in the past ten years? And to think he has done that playing second fiddle to the sooners...

I'm just pleased we're still swinging and not settling.

A reporter from OSU said UT wants to double his current salary 4.2mil that's 8.4 and would make him the 3rd highest paid coach.

Why the heck could we have not made this offer BEFORE considering Schiano??????

Seriously, you are willing to drop this much coin on a coach but instead you went with Schiano as your number 1?????

'Xactly. Currie/Haslam move. I think it's a play for HOH to quieten the natives to turn the heat down. Imagine they were blown away by the public response to their attempt to get what Haslam wanted by sneaking it by.

For the people complaining about the money. Who cares about some millionaire or billionaires money. They have the money to burn and are willing to spend it, then so be it. Other schools do this all the time
