Oklahoma and Texas have reached out to join the SEC (allegedly)

Sounds legit to me. 11am games suck.
Some of those games were on as early as 9 a.m. my time. I actually enjoyed waking up to games being on that early but I understand how and why it affects recruiting.

I think BYU, ND, Boise, etc. want to make the leap to the power group. I could see Memphis, UCF, Houston, etc. wanting in as well. My mind goes to without the NCAA, do the smaller schools stop playing ball? Say a Troy doesn't make the cut, do they eliminate football? Will the big money continue to support a UT Martin type school without profit sharing? If not, do they quit playing football? I had a conversation with my buddy at work the other day about this. I like the fact that the players get to profit off of their celebrity. Great move imo, but will it end up being a world where now thousands of kids no longer get a chance to play college football? That's what I'm curious about.

I do believe a lot of schools will have to give up football over all this. The smaller schools can't survive. The NIL is a huge negative impact to smaller schools. If more programs get what the Miami booster is doing, why would kid go to a small school and not try to land at a bigger program to take advantage of that? I do believe there are going to be plenty of booster will to drop 500K or a couple million in an account to pay players.

Small schools have been at risk for a long time. Breakup of NCAA almost dooms them. I don't how much revenue the NCAA can funnel their way but losing NCAA and going to a conference control situation, there is nothing that says the SEC has to share anything with smaller division schools or any other conference.

Haha. So your night game starts at 4:00.
Plenty of time to grab dinner afterwards 😉

Most logical geographically would be the following. Also would be semi balanced:

West
TX
A&M
LSU
OU
Mizzou
Arky
Ole Miss
MSU

East
TN
Vandy
KY
SC
UGA
UF
Bama
Auburn

Play 7 inter division games each year and 1 or 2 cross division games.
NO DEVISIONS maybe 4 team pods

I disagree. Atlanta is an SEC town already. I don’t think Tech brings enough eyeballs to the screen to give them a piece of the pie. UNC would be the crown jewel outside of Texas, followed by Virginia Tech, Virginia IMO

Edit: Texas, Notre Dame and then UNC.

I'd rather have the steak knives.

GT would be a terrible addition.

Vanderbilt's athletic department runs comfortably in the black. Keep in mind, Vanderbilt makes more money of their media rights than Notre Dame.

this link indicates athletics only made just under 2 million net profit. Not sure of year as I didn't see a date at a glance.

Notre Dame netted 19 million which I was surprised at.

The SEC has made no statement on this, don’t know where this info is coming from?
This is all over just about every media outlet as being a sure thing. Texas & Oklahoma's media contracts with the Big 12 are expiring and both schools have no intention to renew and will request for admission into the SEC next week.

I am referring to people stating proposed divisions

Add to it Vandy spends so little on athletic facilities. Dudley field needs tens of millions of dollars in improvements. Their current budget structure can't handle those upgrades.

Oh....understood

no athletic department can do those upgrades without a drive to get donations for capital improvements. We have never completed Neyland due to lack of funds from donors. Needs to be many millions donated to kick off the rest of improvements.

If 75% of schools are needed for approval then does that mean we can kick out bama if we get 10 other schools to vote for it?
