That would be two more SEC losses for us every season so hell no to this we have a tough enough time competing in this league as it is now.

16 team conference would be odd. Would also have to move Auburn and another west team to East IF it does happen. Doubt it. A weird time for this report, and don’t worry the SEC will make sure we play bama no matter what lol.
Alabama and Auburn would move to the East and we all keep our rivalries.

Bama's, I mean the SEC office's, proposed divisions

Division 1 - Bama, Ole Miss, Miss State, Arkansas, Vandy, UK, South Carolina, Mizzou

Division 2 - Tennessee, Florida, UGA, Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, A&M
And we still will have to play Bama every year smh

If the SEC does it then others will follow suit. Eventually it could be 4 super conferences with 16 teams each. Each conference plays a 10 game conference schedule plus whatever OOC games they wish. Have a semi final and championship game for each conference and then a 4 team playoff with each conference champion. Essentially equals a 16 team playoff each year with the first 2 rounds being conference championships.

This is only because Texas see's an in. UT is the Real UT, and you can cut them off. You are Volunteers for a reason. Take your Identity. Be Hot Fire. Be Appalachian.

superconferences are coming. i don't know if this makes sense from a competition standpoint, but it's all about the TV deal at this point.
You nailed it completely! We can go ahead and get use to the idea because it will happen...We've been teetering with it for a couple of years now and as we see changes happening almost cataclysmically ....Super conferences are the next "logical" (maybe not my logic) step. I have no knowledge of any thing but I would think the SEC would look to add two westward and two eastward to expand an already dominant TV market. I think schools like Tennessee will be safe of course but this really may put another nail in for the smaller schools trying to compete. The NIL has IMO put one proverbial nail to them already.

Say goodbye to playing big time OOC games. Those OOC games would have to be against cupcakes

Like Trump, bama seems to live rent free in many volunteers minds. The reality is, bama beats whomever is put before them, more times than not.
Were you around in the 90’s? Did Perkins, Currie, Shula, Price, Dubose dominate your world view? Bama fans never saw the revolving door of coaches coming - Stallings flashed, but did not make the cut in T-town. One coach can and will make a difference here, eventually. It might already be in process with the new staff, we just won’t know until it happens.

It would be 4 divisions, you'll play all 3 in your division, one each from the other three rotating, and 2 rivals. Then, depending on what we could get away with either a 4 team playoff of champions, or just a single of the 2 lowest ranked teams for the champion. The two highest ranked teams plus the champ would be virtual shoe ins for the 12 team playoff.

@snappervol

Right now, the most powerful teams in the SEC carry the most weight with the league office. This time last year, Georgia essentially bullied themselves into a far easier 2020 football schedule than they deserved.

I think you know I am being facetious with those proposed divisions but Bama carries a disproportionate share of weight in the SEC office and they will do what's best for them in the 10-20 years post Saban. Heck, they were able to talk the SEC into having its championship game at a dump stadium in the State of Alabama until Spurrier protested back in the early 90s.
