I am pretty convinced that when the decision was made to make the move to Stephens, Crompton was told it was provisional. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Fulmer himself told him to keep his helmet on (which Crompton did) because both of the guys were even starters....and if Stephens messed up, Crompton would be in. Sure...maybe Stephens was a bit messed up in the head after that pick 6....maybe a series of Crompton was necessary...but sticking with him for an inCromptonent quarter convinced me that Fulmer was keeping a promise. I've seen all I want to see of this ridiculous crap...if you have to sell out the team to keep players' allegiance then you've lost your touch.
