Official UT vs. Ducks Game Thread - 7:00 EDT - ESPN2

We did exactly the right thing by running it down there throats...but now that they are stacking the box and keep the LBs at home its time to do what Dooley said and take some shots down the field.

I didn't say I feel at ease And nobody in Oregon is talking about "relaxing." But look at my posts before this game even started. I said, word for word, what has happened so far.

Should be a good finish. I'm still confident in my team though.

If you are a prophet you would have seen into the future and knew I would post the following, "You can leave now. No one wants you here." But considering you knew everything about tonight I am sure you knew that was coming to.

The tales of the greatness of your defense were wildly exaggerated. Who'da thunk it?

The Vol OL will begin wearing down their DL. I look for Poole and Oku to get lots more yards in the 2nd half. Mix up the play calling, no turnovers, and control the clock. Vols win by a FG.

I think I want to trade Purdue Chaney for UT Chaney, looking like Fulmer ball all over again.

Matt Simms is not Drew Brees, nor Kyle Orton. He throws a very flat ball, is not accurate enough, and is incapable of looking off the defense.

It is not the OC - it is with what he's working.

Really disappointed with the play calling later in the half there....we need to pass more or it's gonna get ugly for us

I am calling it, if we can hold them to 3 points or less on the opening drive of the second half. We will win. If they score 7, we may lose by 14. Might it be time to open with an on side kick:wink2:

First possession is critical. I'm looking forward to seeing our defensive adjustments. I can't remember when we tweaked our D after halftime.

Our guys are playing hard. If the crowd stays in it we have a punchers chance.

Play calling:

I think we open it up second half; both sides of the ball. D did nothing fancy that half at all.

The no-huddle offense Oregon runs slowed down the aggressive UT DL.

Hopefully Wilcox can make 2nd half adjustments (minor ones) and continue to confuse this young Oregon QB.

I'm impressed with what Wilcox has done so far with such a young unit with little depth. I can only imagine the blowout we would be watching if Chief were still our DC.

If I was an Oregon fan, I'd feel like the second half will be the offense making a lot of big plays.

I just feel like we had a real chance to grab a 10 pt halftime lead or so...

Nobody said he was, jackwagon. It's just not too much to expect a D-1 QB to not stare down his WR's.

That was in response to "we need to throw more", fool. Our QB is clearly not capable so why would our OC call more passing plays? It reminds me of the same fools who said Kiffin played to lose vs UF last year.

That last TD was a perfect throw and a catch, I give Oregon credit. But that personal foul call that gave them life, was weak. The point of that penalty, is to protect players from getting injured, but he wasn't close to be injured on that play.
