I hear you actually become good at real drums learning to play Rock Band drums. This true?

strum bar on my kid's game started flaking out, already have an RMA with EA. I couldn't do the quick turnaround, but he's got other games he can play for the time being. I'll probably end up getting him a GH Guitar as well, although he likes the solo buttons on the RB axe.

I just bought the game, I top 5k worldwide on GH3 so I figured it was worth the investment.

I <3 the drums, but I'm finding it has been interfering with other obligations, like food and World of Warcraft raids......

great game though, love all the DLC

Question for yall...


First off I haven't had any issues with the hardware, however I just picked my up a few days ago so it might be the "new" hardware that isn't as prone to...well screwing up.


I have a band world tour going, shredded faces for hours, got like 600,000 fans, not doing too bad.


Then it's telling us (our band) we need to play on a higher difficultly in order to get more fans. Me and my buddy are playing on hard, but we have BOTH move to expert in order to get more fans.


Don't know about yall, but I almost had a stroke playing Won't get fooled again on hard (drums) If I have to move up I might just implode right there in the living room.


Any who, are yall getting this as well? Does it really matter how many fans, or does it go by stars?

I had a chance to play this game this past weekend (guitar parts only). I liked it- but found that it was waaaaay too easy. I was playing Expert and yawning.
GH3 is much more challenging.

I wish i could have tried the drums or mic... =(

The guitar parts are ridiculous, and all the reviews I read said that. I play on expert on GH3 and I am bored with guitar on Rock Band. For me, however, the lure of this game is the drums. I can assure you they are not nearly as easy.

I've only had the game a few days, but I have played drums for close to 15 years and I still struggle somewhat on Hard, but it makes it fun

Yeah, I play the drums and I also have a little trouble on hard.

My youngest son used his birthday cash to buy Rock Band for the PS2. Will let you know how it is.

edit: a few hours later.

it's pretty good, the visuals are close to what the 360 offers and from what I can gather from the manual, any Rock Band USB peripheral, regardless of the system, will work, that means we'll be able to use the drums, mic and possibly guitar from my oldest son's 360 version.

online play isn't there and neither is character creation, but those are minor details, IMO. If it's successful, I'm sure there will be song expansion packs released to make up for the lack of downloadable content.
