Yeah I keep thinking that as well, because I just don't know why you'd wait to announce if its DeBord. Its not like the Olympics are coming up. If butch thought that was his guy then he would have already announced him. Hoping this is correct, because Mike Sanford would be an exciting hire. Whereas hiring mike DeBord would be comfortable for butch, but not for any of us as fans!

Because the mention of Debord's name caused an uproar and Jones doesn't want that going down before NSD so he has did a few interviews for show and will try to tuck the hire in with a big NSD celebration. JMO

I use to say not DeBord but all indications and chatter is that it is Debord. To be announce Wed. It does not matter. It could be Donald Duck. The bottom line is all expect 8+ wins next year then 10+ the year after.:good!:

It will be whoever it will be and we'll all know soon enough.

There's really only 2 things we fans can do anyway...

1...Accept the decision with class and support our coaching staff and see how things come together next season, or...

2...Act like immature idiots and cry, whine, b*tch and throw a fit and make our fanbase look bad and doing these things won't change or accomplish anything good.

I may not like the hire at all but I'll support whoever it is since that's all I can do as someone that bleeds Tennessee Orange.

It won't be that fluid. He has already gotten on the radio and defended himself once for it. Vols fans take football way too seriously as Butch found out after the Florida game.

Maybe we will sign Debord in some capacity on the staff AND sign an existing OC but waiting for his school's NSD. CMU could be doing the same before announcing our coach. I don't know but support Butch's decision and apparently so does Richmond.

I haven't been following the OC search for a few days with the Drew Richmond saga going on. Since Butch is obviously waiting until after NSD, is the feeling now that we are getting Sanford or another currently employed OC, instead of Deboring?

Debord is the consensus here on VN. Of course, the consensus HC a couple of years ago on VN was Gruden.

With everything else Butch has done, hiring Debord doesn't seem to fit the bill. However, in Butch I trust. It feels good to trust in a coach again. I feel like a pup who's been kicked around for 5-6 years who finally found a master to love him.
