Official OC search update thread...

Find me one Michigan fan that thinks DeBord was or would now be a good offensive coordinator. Good luck its not going to be easy. Michigan fans do not like DeBord at all. There has to be a reason and its not because he's a great coach.

Hi

Sanders was an absolute disaster of an OC, the main reason our program started to fall apart, and then later was only hired as a position coach at an SEC doormat. I'm sure he's grown as a coach in the years since--but he was terrible with a capital T.

in your opinion is the key phrase you left out, our qb play hasn't been very consistent since he left

Just a reminder of what I said earlier. Non of what is going on just happened out the blue. He was able to get organized with his plan ahead of time. Everything is gonna be great on the hill. Watch for a few surprises

What's your opinion of Debord?

Looked on Michigan blogs and found some that liked the 2007 capital one bowl DeBord but in general mostly negative. I just dont think DeBord's pro style is a fit and CBJ knows it to. DeBord is just mentor of CBJ. He want be hired.

What's your opinion of Debord?

As an offensive player, we want consistency, simplicity, and honesty from an offensive coordinator. No b.sing. If it gains yards and scores touchdowns, that's all we care about. Experience is very much what we need to have full confidence. Confidence means buying into what the coordinator is saying. Most of all the personality has to fit in with the staff, no odd balls. With that said, if he were to be an offensive coordinator, he would have my confidence moving forward because I know he will be following butches system, and that debord has plenty of experience and success as a coordinator in a time that offense didn't win games(he was successful with how he had to be). But don't put all the stock into him being the coordinator. No one knows who it is, nor should they. Butch is private and he has good reason for it. He more than likely does not want to burn bridges with other schools, therefore waiting would be smart until all players commit

I see clues.

Keep in mind, despite all this, we continue to get top recruits committing and no players decomitting. As I said, butch has a plan and he will see it through. No matter who is the OC, it will be butches play book with tweaks. He is a man of consistency and if you want tennessee to win the east, an easy transition in offense is what they need. All this is positive stuff.

...the coach is in the sec garden with his spade. He tills the soil with Confucian consistency, until national signing day, on which 30 rosebuds will bloom and out of them will run a powerful force of volunteers and a new coordinator with a sinewy mind destined to slay our predators. Wait in optimistic silence as the cosmic plan....unfolds.

I am a long time reader first time poster as well. Good to see other vols in my area, originally from Lawrenceburg, TN now in Florence, AL.

Living in Loretto, this close to the state line and working in Muscle Shoals, gets rough sometimes. See alot more bammer crap now than I used to. Biggest bunch of bandwagon jumpers in history. Would be nice to get together with some Vols in South Tennessee/North Alabama and watch a game.
