Gonna be without Weber, Klein, Horny & Forsberg tonight..yikes. Suddenly our "stacked" blue line doesn't look so stacked anymore.

This team blows and it's becoming more and more obvious that we need to trade some D for top 6 guys that can score.

Our leading goal scorer has 8 goals..8!!

The issue is that the defense isnt playing very well either. Yes, we have much more (potential) talent at defense than wing, but this sure isn't they same situation we had with Weber, Suter, Hamhuis, Klein, etc.

I'm a die hard fan but trotz needs to go. Poile needs to be held accountable for the horrible signings this past off season.

Nystrom has been good but still overpaid.

Did trotz really scratch Craig smith the other night when he has been our best forward this season?

This team is painful to watch.

I've said it before and I'll stick by it, I think we need to keep Trotz. Poile is the one that needs to go. Trotz can only do so much with the talent the front office signs..which as you said, was a joke this year.


We've routinely outshot our opponents this year and have out chanced them a lot of the time as well..we just have no finishers on the roster..0.

People that complain about the dump & chase style have a point to a certain extent, but the whole NHL is moving in that direction & play a more defensive first style of game.

Scratching Craig Smith was a joke. He's been one of the only bright spots this year..works his tail off every game and was rewarded with being benched.

I guess we should go into full rebuild & I do think we should trade Shea..as great as he is. He would bring back a boatload of offensive talent that we've been missing since..well, forever.

Wilson
Forsberg
Hornqvist
Fisher
Nystrom
Watson(AHL)
Beck(AHL)
Sissons(AHL)
Aberg(SHL)

Every other forward can be traded.

Trading Shea is definitely a legit option. As far as trading for a top-6 forward... that ship has sailed. Adding a top-6 forward wouldn't even get us to the playoffs. We have to rebuild. The ownership will have a really tough job to rebuild and keep attendance up to make sure the team is financially viable.

You guys talk about bringing in offensive talent, but with Trotz as coach what is that going to do for us?

I don't know if you guys watched one of the LA kings games this year where Stalberg and Wilson were completely in sync and had what I thought was a breakout game. After the game Wilson said "I don't know if Trotz will let us play like that again."

No top 6 forward in their right mind would want to come play in Nashville. They will get the same treatment as Stalberg did early this year. They will get 4th line minutes or be scratched until they switch their style to be defense first.

Nashville would never open up the offense even if we had Ovechkin/Crosby/Malkin on one line as long as Trotz is in the lead.

However, our forwards are so bad because of Poile that if we fired Trotz this team would be a catastrophe unless we hired a coach like Trotz. Could you imagine an offensive minded coach trying to win with these forwards? It would never happen. We would be worse than we are now.

Nashville is a sailboat in the water with no wind.

Trotz isn't an offensive guy. He needs to go. I appreciate everything he did for the franchise but it's time to move on

The NHL as a whole is more defensive now..Trotz can only do so much with the talent he has.


It's not his fault the front office has brought in/drafted the worst forward group in the leage.

Yeah the forwards don't have much talent. However, that's not the issue. If we brought in Ovechkin, Trotz would have him riding the bench or playing 4th line minutes because he isn't defensive enough.

Trotz wants all the forwards to play defense first. He doesn't like letting forwards play a more open game.

I said in my previous post that Wilson stated that Trotz would be upset with him and Stalberg over playing a more open offensive game.

It doesn't matter who our forwards are as long as Trotz is the man in charge.

It's just a catch 22. If we let Trotz go and get an offensive coach then how are our forwards going to win for us? Can Nashville attract any big name forwards?

I mean I get your point but let's not be ridiculous with that Ovi claim.

When we were making that playoff run in 2011-12, and actually had top line talent Rads, AK46, SK74..they didn't have a problem scoring.

I mean it's whatever to me..do whatever we gotta do to get top forward talent in Nashville. The name of the game is scoring goals..we can't do that.

If that means letting Trotz go, then so be it..but I think it'll be a mistake. He's widely considered one of the top coaches in all of hockey. Won't take him long at all to find another job.

I wouldn't consider AK46 or SK74 top line talent. SK74 was barely top line talent on our roster. If he played for any other team he would be 2nd or 3rd line.

Rads on the other hand showed a lot of promise, but it's tough to say where he would be since he is playing in another league.

Yeah we had great talent for that playoff push. Yet we still suspended AK46 and Rads for missing curfew. Which I think was a big mistake. Should have ignored it. I believe we were down 2-1, but I can't remember.

That was the year Poile got played like a drum by Suter and we lost out on a top 5 league defenseman for nothing.

It happens. Dale Hunter slashed Ovechkin's minutes dramatically and ran a defensive-first system that had everybody in the league wondering whether Ovechkin was done. Now Ovi's as good as ever under a new coach. Hockey might be the sport in which a coaching change can have the quickest and most dramatic turnaround.
