Its a talent problem. But Torts wouldn't be a solution either way, especially on a team with lots of kids.

I'd much rather keep trotz over tortorella.

Draft Barkov, land a winger and a solid d man from free agency, and we'll be in pretty good shape.

Smith and Josi were both on fire in the WC's.

I like the idea of locking him up long term. $4 mil is a little high at this point though

7 year contracts in a sport as physical as hockey always worry me a little bit. With that said, Josi is a great young player and hopefully will be a bargain at 4mil years 3-7 of this deal

Seth Jones: TEAM: Portland (WHL)HT: 6-3WT: 210POS: D

Pick analysis: The Preds will feel like they have won the lottery if Jones is here at No. 4. They are a franchise, perhaps more than any other in the league, that loves to draft D-men. With Ryan Suter now gone to the Wild, this will be just too appetizing to pass up -- even though they have had a lot of success developing the likes of Roman Josi and Kevin Klein, and they have Shea Weber as their foundation. They could certainly use a high-end, skilled forward who will still be on the board, but Jones will cement their back end for years to come. He is big, with elite skating and has star potential.

Agreed, but he's considered to be the best player in the draft, so I couldn't be to upset. I don't expect him to drop to 4 though.

Looks like we are going to have Jones fall in our lap! I know most people wanted Barkov but I think Jones is the best player in the draft and I'm pumped we got him! We are going to have 3 of the best defensemen in the world! We needed a goal scorer but we just got a steal in Jones, I can't believe he fell to us. So pumped.
