Official Nashville Predators Thread

Freidman says Nashville has asked about Johansen, Duchene, and RNH, but Poile isn't willing to pony up enough to make the wheels start turning. Hopkins would probably be easiest to get, but I have my doubts about his effectiveness against #1's in the Central.

Poile is delaying the inevitable. Fisher and Ribeiro will not be around for a lot longer.

We need to move now. I hope we are not a bottom feeder again. I always look forward to the playoffs no matter our seed.

I'm not sold on RNH. I think a trade straight up, Jones for RNH, would be acceptable but unlikely.

What do you think the chances are that we could actually land Duchene or Johansen, and what do you think we would have to give up to get them?

I'm thinking for Duchene/Johansen we give up a Josi +.

On another note,

I know Yankee Vol said to trade Weber instead of Jones but I don't think that's a good idea. Weber is a reliable defenseman. A pairing of Jones/Josi would not work. Look at the playoffs last year. Jones is just not reliable yet, and Josi and Jones have too similar games.

I think we should keep Weber and Josi.

It's really a no brainer, the contract will be horrid towards the end, and he can bring a legitimate star in return. Josi isn't going anywhere, and Jones is under team control for a good while. I think it'd be easy to get someone who would walk in as Nashville's #1 pivot, a depth player, a #1 pick and a smattering of lower picks

I actually think the contract helps. It was front heavy

The cap hit doesn't go anywhere though, I don't see the cap rising enough to where it's a good value as time goes forward. He may well be an exception, but generally speaking he's got a few years before an unmistakable decline, it's best to strike while the iron is hot.

Typically defenders can play pretty well at older ages.

In a town..where they are way down the list of things to do

Filling around 98% would indicate that enough people feel checking out a game or three is on the list of things to do. Sure, it's not New York or Detroit, but they seem to be doing alright with what they're doing.

Just keep Josi. I'm okay with trading most anyone else, though I'm higher on Seth Jones than it seems like most are.

Somethings about to go down

Poile was supposed to do an interview with 104.5 at 4:15 but Sean Henry had to step in because "Poile was busy on the phone"
