Freidman says Nashville has asked about Johansen, Duchene, and RNH, but Poile isn't willing to pony up enough to make the wheels start turning. Hopkins would probably be easiest to get, but I have my doubts about his effectiveness against #1's in the Central.

I actually think the contract helps. It was front heavy
The cap hit doesn't go anywhere though, I don't see the cap rising enough to where it's a good value as time goes forward. He may well be an exception, but generally speaking he's got a few years before an unmistakable decline, it's best to strike while the iron is hot.
