Official Nashville Predators Thread

I'm under no delusion that it's even a possibility, but I'd enjoy a Preds Stanley Cup more than a Vols NC or anything else in the athletic realm.

I very strongly doubt the NHL wants nashville in the Stanley Cup. The perception will be that it will not be a big draw, however wrong that is. Nashville gets too little credit for being an excellent hockey city. The hockey snobs generally turn their nose up at franchises like ours.

We have good attendance when we're winning, but football will always be top dog here. You're kidding yourself if you don't think a place like Hamilton would make for a better market.

Sure, for the panthers, lightning, hurricanes, coyotes. Nashville really does well for a self admitted "small market". Post January and into the playoffs they do really well. Ask visiting organizations from these "preferred"' markets.

I think Rinne gets the Vezina this year. He's 14-1-1 in his last 16 starts. Leads the NHL in wins with 33. 1st in GAA at 1.97 and 2nd in save % at .931

I was impressed with the overall experience, personally. Will be going back next year provided game is in the winter

The only two goalies in the running at this point are Price and Rinne. It will be close, but hopefully Rinne pulls it out.

Their GAA and SV% are so close that a couple games could take either one from 1st or 2nd.

Also, that NJ game was a snooze fest. lol

Vezina: Price

Calder: Ekblad

Norris: Giordano

Jack Adams: Capuano

Presidents' Trophy: Blues

Preds lose in 1st round to Flames or Jets after trading Fiala and a 1st for Kessel who signs with Hawks for veteran minimum on first day of free agency.

“@KWilsonPreds: The @PredsNHL have acquired Cody Franson & Mike Santorelli from Toronto for Leipsic, Jokinen and a first-round pick"

I like it. I love leipsics potential but adding Santorelli helps with depth. Now we have 4 RHD on the team. I like Franson but I'm not sure where he'll fit in with Ellis close to return.

Breaking news: Nashville has acquired Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli from the Leafs, for a first rounder (2015), Olli Jokinen, and Brendan Leipsic.

Welcome back to the Preds!

Franson can always play on his off side if need be.

Weber, Ellis & Franson all have bombs from the right side. This D is a bit ridiculous.

twss.

That's a pretty good trade IMO

Very good. Leipsic could wind up being a very fun player, but small guys with skill are plentiful, and are a crapshoot. Nashville has the organizational depth to where they're not giving away anything of imminent usefulness for a few guys that will be logging important minutes from the get go.

Good trade. Jokinen has been a non-entity and maybe the only real free agent misfire by Poile this year. Franson, from what I remember (not going to pretend I've watched the pathetic Leafs much lately), should still be good-to-very good with puck movement on the power play.

Don't know how much you guys have noticed it, but has anyone else enjoyed Colin Wilson's sudden ascent from league average player to critical piece on the league's best team?

WTF Franson is day-to-day with a hip.

The injury that is slowing Cody Franson down is to his hip.

Franson continues to play through the injury but we would be wary about starting him as hip troubles definitely impact on one's effectiveness in skating. Feb 14 - 12:15 PM

F'ing great

I give this one a thumbs up. I wanted Franson to stay a while back, he will be a ice addition and has plenty of time to heal up, and if you're effectively replacing jokinen with Santorelli.....um, yes. 5 out of 5 times you would make that (this year).

Santorelli will improve the bottom six but not as much as he should because he'll likely replace Beck (a useful player) rather than a tenured Cullen or Nystrom. Politics suck.

You should at least get your glass to half empty. We are having a very good season, made what seems to be a very good move. Enjoy the season while it's here.
