Do you think Liepold expected to keep the team in Nashville long term? Did the Del Biaggo financial troubles hurt their ability to keep up the payroll? These are a couple of the conspiracy theories that I've heard over the years.If Carolina and Tampa Bay can win a cup so can Nashville. I have no problem with big free agents not wanting to come to Nashville. I'd bet most of their no trade lists include Carolina and Tampa Bay. The problem was partly coaching(I appreciate what Trotz did) but you need to score to win. Drafting better offensive players would be a plus too. I think it's easier to keep "home grown" talent in the NHL as compared to other leagues IMO.
