Wasn't a great game by him, and the ball was already gonna go in.
That said, he's still a decent squad player right now when he applies himself, and with a lot of upside
only caught the 2nd half but it was a good win. For some reason it doesn't look like we have many out there with the confidence to crack one from 18-25yds out. Really need to finish better around the goal. Can't leave too many chances hanging around against better competition
I get that (Dempsey's never met a shot he didn't like) but would think someone else would hit a couple. Also a couple of the finishes were from guys who should do better (Donovan and Johnson).
how meaningful is this? ive not heard of the guy.
Kyle Beckerman does his job
I know its not enough for some people, who continue to want the Real Salt Lake man to be more, do more, try more, etc.
But that positional discipline, that ability to win the ball, win tackles, distribute simply and wait for the next chance to do it all again all that stuff is so critical in a match like Sundays, when less disciplined men might grow impatient and wander too far forward. That is exactly what Panama wanted, to defend and defend and hope to catch the United States leaning too far into the attack.
Teams need balance and Beckerman provides a bunch of it. No, hes not about to displace Michael Bradley or even Jermaine Jones on coming World Cup qualifier rosters. But for depth in the pool, Beckerman as a holding midfield specialist provides essential value.

DC United and city officials signed an agreement Thursday that would keep the Major League Soccer franchise in the District of Columbia with a new, $300 million soccer-only stadium.
The city and the team would split the cost of the stadium, which is tentatively scheduled to open in 2016 in an industrial section of southwest Washington known as Buzzard Point.
DC United, which has played in aging RFK Stadium since MLS' launch in 1996, had considered relocating to suburban Maryland, Virginia or even Baltimore. But co-owner Jason Levien said Thursday that he's been negotiating to keep the team in the district since he bought the club last year.
