Offer him the job and watch. I have heard that his father has told Lane that leaving Tennessee was the biggest mistake they ever made. Again, offer him the job and I personally believe he will jump at the chance. His twitters are indications he is interested and keeping up with it's happenings. Strictly my opinion and I am definitely not an insider.

It's my 2000th post on volnation and it only took me 6 years to get there. Lol, I thought it would happen in the Gruden thread but since that isn't happening, get lane kiffin!!! The man will win!

Steele is 60 years old and has an abysmal record as HC. We need to go for a young hire UNLESS we decide to go the old route and get Les Miles. Les Miles is the only 60 plus hire that would right the ship and bring in great recruits for the next HC

maybe thats a little over the top, but bottom line... TN would have a better chance to beat Saban with Lane than they will with ANYONE else that they can get at this point!

Kiffin to Saban after the blocked field goal, "thats the last time you will ever beat me!" :rock:

As I said, that was unfounded opinion, answering an unfounded opinion.
To answer your question, Monte left and it looked at the time like he was getting the blame for things going bad. It was mentioned in this thread that it was Monte's fault Lane failed at USC. I've always read here that it all falls on the HC. I guess it really comes down to what fits the point you want to be true.

This is sad and true but we will end up with the toothless girl thats so ugly you cant look at her. WE need to put our feelings away and use our heads . HIRE KIFFIN TODAY

I think this could be a great hire, Yes he is out spoken on twitter a lot but if you find him a great DC then we could be winning big quick.
