Official Lane Kiffin thread 1

Luke 15:11-32King James Version (KJV)

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

FWIW, a few around AD John Currie & the coaching search have said to be prepared for Lane Kiffin's name to be leaked to a few media outlets tomorrow morning to gauge the reaction of #Vols fans & those that cover the #SEC.

No. Dumb idea. Just protested a possible head coach with integrity doubts. Why on earth go after one with known integrity issues? Dumb idea.

p.s. Don't start a thread about Petrino, either. Same dumb thing.

Let’s not blur lines like this.

Schiano has some connection to Sandusky that alleged that he might have known that boys were being raped in a shower. The allegations were hearsay within hearsay but it’s tone deaf for a school suffering through a sexual misconduct scandal requiring mandatory reporting training to even consider the guy to be the face of the program. There’s too much risk on the back end with no real upside with his coaching acumen (not to mention his reputation as a bully in the locker room makes Jones look downright cuddly).

In the other hand...

Kiffin/Petrino chased consenting adults.

Or, If you’re talking about Kiffin bolting for USC, he apparently told Hamilton that if the job ever came open and he was offered, he’d take it. That’s not an issue about integrity because he did exactly what he said.

As far as his personal life goes, he had a reckoning with his wife about it. Plus, I no more care who the head coach of my alma mater is boning than I do some random person in wal mart. It’s none of my business as long as all parties have agency and consent.

Can the Lane Kiffin thread not become the new version of the Gruden thread?

Makes me superstitious that it won’t happen. Anything even remotely resembling the Gruden threads make me think we have no shot.

I'm 110% and have been #hirelanekiffin for weeks and posted about 80 times today. However our administration and boosters will never be brash or brace enough to do it.

I'm still 100% on Gruden SOON, but I would call Kiffin a HR hire!

So a day after attacking Schiano’s integrity, we gonna trot out Kiffin?
Don't even compare the two as far integrity or coaching. First off one of the sharpest offensive minds in the game today. Can adjust to any defense and blitz packages, zones, man coverages during a game. Makes good game management decisions far better than KJJ. He is an excellent QB developer as well. And that is coming from fellow coaches, opponents, and sports writers. Secondly he is a players coach. Former players have said they loved playing for Kiffin. Look up what former Bucs players said about SchiaNO. Said that he propagated an "atmosphere of fear" in the locker room (sounds like Butch 2.0 to me).
Lastly with the state of our program, fan morale, and current administration. He is the perfect fit right now. He's a top notch recruiter. Surrounds himself with a top notch staff and has the perfect mindset and personality for our school, AD, and Haslams. He has absolutely no fear of Saban or any other coach for that matter. Plus he has admitted making mistakes here and other schools and he stated he has matured. Other than Gruden (slim to nothing chance) no other coach could right this ship as quickly as he could.

They are running out of choices that want to come here. He has shown interest in returning. I'm 90% he comes. I'm still holding on to 10% Gruden.

He’s trolling Tennessee on Twitter as we speak. Too immature to be a head coach. Has failed everywhere as the top guy. Great OC but you can’t trust him as a Head Coach. Bring in a guy like Cutcliffe with Tee Martin as OC/ coach in waiting.
