It's tough to get back...........especially without Layla.

She probably would have taken him back if he was in the running for the gator job.

6 years @ 5-7 million per and another 6-8 million for assistants. Just make sure his contracg has a YUGE buyout and its all good.

Hell, why not? UT has already proven that they could do worse. At this point, we could do a lot worse. As far as realistic candidates go, he is probably the best available. He probably wouldn't even take the job now. Haha.

I’m all for Kiffin, I like what he did here... but I wonder with some of the false rumors of how he ran our program and obviously how he left, would cause similar revolts?

There has definitely been more of a shift to accepting him after this fiasco. I would be interested to see a poll. If it’s not gruden or Petersen ( seem like pipe dreams now more than ever) then I really hope it’s kiffin. He just needs to come set up shop under his own volition and start coaching... maybe they will just say “ well, hell... no one else was in that seat... let’s just see how this plays out”.

i bet we could get him for 4 million and some performance incentives. Along with favorable buyout for us. He is just like us . He is a little on the damaged goods side of things but with tons of potential. Thats our program in a nut shell. Both parties would benefit alot. It would also need some one that was skilled in PR to sell it to all the fans

I like Lane Kiffin, and would 100% support him coming back. Just don’t see it happening after he received DEATH threats from a portion of our fan base.

There are times where the passion is good (today), and other times where this passion for success is detreimental (January 2010).

If we could still lure Mike Leach to UT now after this HUGE mess Currie got us in, then it would currently be considered a "Homerun Hire". Successful and checks all the boxes in my book. The crazy thing is, Leach let it leak yesterday that he'd accept the Vols job if offered.....but instead of hiring a Head Coach with a Top25 defense, a school record breaking QB, and has his team steadily ranked in the Top20.......Currie chose to take the "Coordinator route". Smh. And now look how it's damaged things. We need to call Mike Leach and beg for his forgiveness. We can even keep Shoop and Hoke to handle the Defense for him. I'd love to be able to land Leach after this Schiano mess. Matt Campbell from Iowa State already pulled his name outta the conversation. And Cutcliffe is straight, but I'd much rather have Leach or Les Miles. I keep hearing Jeff Brohm from Purdue talk, and that would be horrible. A 6-6 or 7-5 coach from Purdue? That's what we should settle for? Nope. Leach is a WAY better offensive mind any day of the week. We should call Mike Leach, Mike Antonio from MichSt, and Les Miles. Offer them all 3 a fat salary, and don't take no for an answer. We can get 1 of those 3 no problem if Currie offers the right money. But I'm totally against Jeff Brohm. If we can't get better than Brohm, then we shoulda just kept Butch and tried again next yr. Leach, Dantonio, or Miles - Currie needs to hurry and make these calls before we hafta drop down to coaches like Charlie Strong or Mack Brown. Currie has screwed up big time, so he hasta make the calls to agents to get this done and fixed in the next 24-36hrs or they might run him outta town, ha. Seriously. Smh. Crazy times to be a Vol

My brother has been on the train for a while but I resisted. I say lets do it I swear if he tries to put any USC or Bama stuff up in the complex I'll take the charge and punch him myself.

My first reaction to Schiano was that if he's their guy, then bring back Kiffin.

Why not just let UT know who we want the same way we just told them who we don't want? Gruden, Petersen,____, or if we have to Kiffin. Anything less then start clearing your desks because we're sending you home asap.

If it's a name who will actually take the job, that might work.
Kiffin's the only name in your post who I think would accept the job.
But, I don't think we'll get the 100% unanimity behind Kiffin that we had in rejection of Schiano.

If we take to the streets to tell them who to hire, everyone will have a different name on their sign.
