PASSION is defined as any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate. Most coaches would bring a fire in their belly for winning just like they did on their last four or five stops. Kiffin would bring a passion for redemption and an inferno in his belly to prove every naysayer wrong. His new tenure would be a life's mission as opposed to any other coaches mission of doing a solid, good journeyman job. From our deepest hole ever; we need passion.

You're rationalizing this amuses me.

Every assistant is 'actually' available for a head coaching job at a SEC school. All of them.

Lane has fallen forward since he was bounced by the craziest NFL owner in history.

and all im asking for is a name or two of guys who you think would be a better choice than lane with more success? i dont think thats unreasonable.

Head coach of FAU is falling forward . He has turned around there team and fan base in a single year .

Better is a subjective term, I could argue that anyone is "better" without defining the parameters.

Bama was good before he got there and good after he has booted. You're hurt, jilted - I get that. Bringing Kiffin back isn't happening, best move on from this absurd notion. Move on, he's at FAU - right where he should be.

If u don't think lane has changed . Imagine the trolling he would of done years ago if Tennessee wanted him to come back . Now no trolling just saying he is getting ready for a game this weekend

im not hurt, im actually quite the opposite after the way vol fans united to remove schiano before it happened. all things considered, i think lane makes alot of sense. im not someone though that thinks only 1 choice is the right choice. i think there are a few guys that could do really well with the job, lane included.

Fact is, for all of the rest of us, UT and UF included, any hire is going to take 2-3 years to be able to find and develop enough athletes to be competitive with those top tier programs.

Hiring Lane Kiffin just because he's brash and has brief flashes of success, is not the answer. You need someone who can restore stability and confidence in the UT brand. I just don't think he is that person.

Really Lane again? At times it is hard to bite my tongue on this site. Lane is a snake in the grass. Why not Jeremy Pruitt?

He would have a very easy time getting some mattresses burned as well, but you might be too young to know what that is. Literally, when I think of lack of character in college football - Lamo has to be at the top.

Lane may be a loose canon, and might not always think before he speaks, but he’s a lot smarter than people give him credit for. This would be too big of a risk for him.

If he comes back, half the fans won’t accept him. No one in the AD will, truly, trust him. And if he doesn’t succeed, the fan base will eat him alive.

Start a petition. Letting the AD know it's ok, I'm sure they're pretty gun shy right now as to who to look at for the job. We need to give them some reassurance.
