You could FOIA request, but the university could easily stall longer than they need for confidentiality. It would presumably be public knowledge in 60 days no matter what.

Thanks. That’s exactly what I presumed would happen.

An MOU can be constructed by and for and contain many different things. UTAD probably has a standard MOU which they use to negotiate any coaching search. Setting up an MOU that HIRES a coach terminating a contract for a different coach in place unaware his/her contract has been terminated, I can line up attornies all day for some of that action. That is what has been promoted by MANY here on VN and my entire point about MOUs is I do not believe the UTAD has legal advice they use that is that incompetent.

It doesn't have to terminate the sitting coach. As said prior, Currie can hire 3 head coaches if he so desires.

Whether it’s true or not it would be smart of BJ to exit on a positive note after a win

Would help him look better as well when wanting another job

I agree. We may not have a win left this season, so seize the day, Butch. We will help you pack.

$100,000,000 would be excessive, and EVERY COURT would likely reduce it to $10,000 or nothing.

This stuff doesn't happen in a vacuum.

Also, you could send a FOIA request, but it would take 60 days to hear back. This making it a waste of time.

I don't mind offering input to people with honest questions, but remy is going out of his way to be obtuse. He's saying it's not possible for a MOU to exist, and literally every lawyer on the board who has replied to him has said yes it is.

Can you support anywhere with case law where any University at the D1 FCS level has had 3 Head Coaches under contract for the same period simultaneously?

(this does not need to be merged. People in the Gruden thread will cry because “it’s a Gruden support thread)

I’m not apposed to hiring Gruden I’m down for whatever works. But why is everyone going crazy for him? There isn’t anything on his resume that says he’s a good college coach, a good recruiter, good in player development, understanding of academics, or anything else at the college level.

People say he is a QB guru? Why? Because he has a TV show called Grudens QB Camp? Have you ever watched Paul Finebaum break down plays? He’s pretty damn good at it. He knows a lot about schemes. Does that make him a good coordinator?

Gruden has never had to dumb it down for players like this before. He’s been a NFL coach. He said himself his teams had more plays for iFormation than most college teams have in there whole playbook.

On the positive side I think he will be good for recruiting for a couple years why he has a chance to win. If he wins it looks like a genius hire. If he loses the media is just gonna say we told you so. I’d say there will be a ton of write ups come out after the fact saying WTF did UT just do. Not that I think the media is right on that.

Overall I think it’s not a mistake to hire Gruden I think it’s a 50/50 hire but either way he’s probably the #1 or #2 guy I would go after. I think he’s coming to UT, and I hope it works out for the best. It damn just can’t go any worse than what we have now. We have tremendous talent on this roster, and I believe any halfway decent coach can do some damage in the SEC with this team. Here’s to the White Whale and the firing of Botch Jones. Dilly Dilly

This is the most all over the place post I've ever read... I'm dumber for seeing it.

Everybody stuck on "MOU"...I'm sure Ergen & Co. completely overlooked that and it was caught by some Gruden-contrarian that "knows" attorneys. :eek:lol:

LOL, that's the point, in this case, CBJ's buyout would easily be thrice, and settled. There is no attorney worth his salt IMO, that would allow going to trial/court a paper trail that the attorney participated in proving the case of his/her opposition. In this case, the supposed "signed MOU" no one has seen. There is a reason no one has "seen" this MOU. It's what many people these days refer to as vaporware because when it gets down to it, it does not exist. It does not exist for good legal and business reasons IMO. This actually means many of your "sources" are FOS regarding details like this, they may or may not be FOS on other things. Believers will rationalize ANYTHING like the smoking MOU that gives CBJ's buyout an exponential increase for legal incompetence IF it exists at all.

What is the theory of law that allows for treble damages?

No one speaks for me counselor if you are one. What Remy is saying and said multiple times, a signed MOU HIRING Jon Gruden weeks ago for UT head Coach for the same period that CBJ was executing being the Head Coach under existing contract could easily be challenged for damages by CBJ. There could be an MOU where we all decide to go to Wendy's for lunch, I'm not suggesting the silly, that was you.
