You let 4 of your buddies give you a vasectomy?!?!????!!! You’re brave.

Lol....jk

Whoa Nellie and pass the frank and beans
You let four drunken frat boy friends go to town on Mr Johnson and the boys with knives?
Are you insane😱

Let me retract what I said this morning. If Jones does not announce something today or tomorrow, the less firm I am on Gruden. I thought he would resign. But obviously, this is not going to be the case. I will take my lumps...I was wrong!

Think you’d be wise to just assume Butch is here till the end of the season. If he hasn’t left, or been forced to leave yet then it’s clear there probably very little that would cause him to now.

I was like you and other, after every week getting angrier and angrier at no announcement. I’ve seance come to terms with it and moved on.

can we be pen pals :)

I didn't see where anyone else mentioned this, but when Butch stepped off the plane in Knoxville almost 5 years ago, all he had signed was an MOU. Not one person was on here discussing if it was a legally binding document.

Why do some of you demand to believe in worst case scenarios?

Speaking for my self i havent seen one shred of evidence the so called insiders has come true. Stuff is thrown out there and the say its a fluid situation. The truth is some boosters wanted to look into Gruden like 2012 and they did. Gruden wants to coach at the NFL level if he comes back. I cant believe folks fall for the information being thrown around. Would i like for him to come? Hell yes.

The MOU is used for executing the agreement until a signed contract is in place.

Correct. It's almost like this (very reduced):

You have seven "business professionals" around a table, arguing over what the deal should be. They dicker over price - but then agree. They dicker over term, but then they agree. They argue about assuming liabilities, but then they agree. Etc.

An attorney (for every party) is present, and as the guys agree on things, they put it into the MOU (which are typically already partially done, and circulated among counsel, because there are only so many variables).

Once the MOU is signed, everyone goes away, and one attorney inputs all the terms into a full contract (which includes all sorts of boiler plate terms that the attorneys want to argue about). The new contract is circulated, and the attorneys argue and make revisions. When they are happy, the parties sign the contract.

The beauty of Gruden coming is the simplification of the offense:

Spider 2 Y Banana between the 5's.
Jumbo package inside the 5.

62 Stack Monster on D

DONE!

The 62 stack monster, you had better have all the right moves to score on that!

SIAP...HankHill in the RF(somehow connected to the team. Talks of being at practices and on sideline) says there is lots of chatter around the office today of Butch resigning tomorrow. He says that there previously wasnt any chatter of this until today. TIFWIW

Speaking for myself.

I'm not demanding anything. I'm just considering all possible scenarios.

When Gruden steps of the plane I'll stop considering all other scenarios.

I question anyone that seems to demand I believe what they believe, just because they believe it.

You better start believing me....SOON

We have 3 girls (9, 7, and 3), 2 girl dogs, and 19 hens. My husband is the best taken care of man in America.

Does your girls go to the local elementary school? My daughter is the oldest of my 3 and she is in middle school. My 2 boys are 9 and 6(will be 7 in Dec.)

He did not have that MOU in his hand while a coach was on the payroll for coaching a game the night before is a point of fact. That is where one has to suspend rational thought 9and competent legal advice as well) to come to the point UTAD signed an MOU hiring Gruden when having a coach under contract for that position during the same time period. As a reminder CBJ is under contract for next season as well, no? Currie and CBJ both are on the public record during this supposed MOU hiring Gruden that CBJ was not terminated, his contract is unchanged and no one has suggested an amendment has been filed any where. Both are going to be proven liars after this is all said and done via the paperwork, you all signing up for that? So help me, this whole MOU hiring Gruden fig leaf depends on multiple secret agreements and secret documents that no one can produce or allow to be seen, just complete and utter heresay, amirite? That's where some of you purported attornies, of which I am not one but use the best around where I work, that's your position here, secret documents, secret agreements, secret abrogation of existing contracts, heresay, how does that hold up in a court of law?

Dude, you sound like you need to (1) smoke less meth and (2) watch less Law and Order.

You are wrong. I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

To be fair, there’s been “someone connected to something” swear this, or he’s been fired every week since Georgia. Heck, they’ve even started threads each week except this one so far.

Remy, I'm not here to argue but you're basing your opinion off incomplete information.

We have no idea what has been agreed to my Currie and Jones. Currie may have already fired Butch or told him he would not be retained unless x, x, and x requirements have been met.

They could have already signed another contract or modified the existing one.

Here is what it boils down to.

Look at what happened at Texas with Strong/Herman.

If you think there wasn't a signed MOU in place with Herman before the press conference firing Strong then no one can convince you.

That deal was done way before he was ever fired and any competent agent would protect his client (Herman) to ensure he got was promised before he ever agreed to take the job.

You just need to take a step back and look at this logically.

And I'm not saying there had been a MOU signed, or Butch fired, or anything.

The truth is we don't know.

But saying it's impossible while a coach is still in place isn't true.

You guys are cracking me up, as if grilling the board attorneys is going to have anything at all to do with the actual substance of whatever document Gruden has signed to indicate his acceptance of employment at a particular time.

Believe the folks who think he is coming, or don't. Your belief will affect only one person: you. If you mope around depressed, again that's only on you. Those bringing info and reason for good cheer will continue to enjoy the anticipation of Grude times to come. :)

I agree with all of this. But, how would a public records request play in? I don't know because that is not my area. There are certain exceptions in the statute, ie business development ect. I just do not know the answer.

Ask yourself are legally binding contracts and MOUs if constructed with payment penalties (what if the payment penalty was $100 million rather than $10K?) allowed to be kept secret as part of a State of Tennessee institution?
