Naturally, I know that some may wonder about the fact that we are making this huge step forward in during a moment in our season during which our on-field results are admittingly disappointing. In reality, the necessity of this undertaking and its impact on future generations of Tennessee fans transcends one game or one season for that matter. To quote General Neyland's game maxim #3: "If at first the game or the breaks go against you, don't let up. Put on more steam!" In fact, the momentum of our fundraising over the last several months exceeds our expectations!

I’m not a big time donor, but I donate to both the school and the athletic department. I have to say that I’m kinda waiting to see how this all shakes out before sending in the check this year.

"I believe nothing has been done with Butch because they believe he gives the best chance to get this team in a bowl game. Any interim would be a disaster to the rest of the season. No assurance Jones gets them to a bowl but the belief is that is the best chance. A bowl for the players is a positive no matter who is the coach in 2018.

As we are witnessing, things change daily with this football program. Will Antone Davis interview expedite things? Would a positive response from Gruden expedite things? Would a loss to Southern Miss expedite things? Only Currie has that answer.

IMO, they will try to get a head coach in place as quickly as possible after the Vanderbilt game. I think their focus will be getting the right guy over saving the recruiting class though. Getting someone they believe will get this program on the right track is more important than this class."

"i think Larry has summed things up pretty well here... in addition, something that isn’t talked about is there is not a lot of head coaching experience on the current staff.... you really have only two candidates in Hooke and Shoop. Well let’s say one of them takes the Interim position and proceeds to go 0-4, which is a real possibility.... that would only hurt their chances for the next job because all Assisntants and cocordinaors knows this GIG is over after Vandy.... with our current talent and rash of injuries, it would be a huge gamble to be interim HC at TN...... especially since Butch Jones and Larry Scott are the punching bags and taking all the heat locally and Nationally... If im an assistant over there, I’ve got my head down, desperately wanting this season to end so I can move onto my next Coaching assignment....."

Guys this doesn’t have anything to do with MIT_Beaver other than the MIT connection. That’s the schools mascot. I don’t think this is some code that castor is his deal.

Yup. The beaver mascot symbol is pervasive in all things MIT. Don't believe? Google "brass rat"; or in MIT_Beaver's case "grad rat".

The connection to Castor Ventures is weak at best. There are literally hundreds of venture capitalist firms populated by MIT grads. After all, MIT's Sloan School of Management is one of the top five business schools in the US.

I've been wondering, Jones seemed to be so open when he first came here - inviting players back, insisting they are part of the program etc. It seems as the years have gone on that may have reversed. He has become more closed off - not necessarily him but the program. I'm not sure though; does anyone have an opinion/info on this?

Yea he is a selfish egotistical jerk who has no right being one. He snuck in and then had his way with the school and Hart. What's longest he has been at a school?

Jones has always struck me as the type of guy that believes he should be treated with the same respect that Saban gets, without even remotely coming close to the results Saban has achieved.

Has anyone else heard about a 3+ hour meeting Fulmer had yesterday? I've been told it was Ron Zook. Would be very intereating seeing as Gruden amd Zook were both here on 1986 and Zook was rumored to be a Gruden staffer on 2012.

I am catching up because i had to do some work. This may have been answered by the time I get there, but I am quite sure there was no meeting with zook yesterday
