Boro, I totally agree with your thoughts but in my own simple way of thinking "who ______ could replace Gruden? What name would instantly recruit, coach to the level of championships, represent the University and our traditions, put us on the road to recovery and become relevant again? I personally do not have that name!

There is no other name. That is why it is imperative that the deal be made....and why it would be unforgivable to allow the rumors to persist if he is out of the running.

If Butch being gone is a certainty, surely Davis would be aware of that and would wait things out. Suggests Butch being gone isn't so much a done deal and potential of him being out after Bama or UK not really on the table.

I’m nit sure he wasn’t trying to make a point and show how bad things have become inside Jones program.

The resignation letter from Antone has me furious. This has to end soon. Im beyond tired of the smokescreens, implied power struggles and inept decisions happening right now. That male lesbian needs to go.

I also married a Bama grad. My husband is extremely respectful and even pulls for TN (now) when we're not playing the Tide. A couple of his friends, however, act like he's broken a blood oath by marrying a TN alum. Some of them are truly deranged.

Mine is a good sport as well. Whenever he has a business trip to Knoxville, he picks up a new shirt or whatnot for me from alumni hall.

After living in Alabama for over ten years as a child, football really is the only bright spot for most of the state. It's all they have. Lol. Most of the truly horrid fans have never set foot on the campus.

Currie did say in his response “ lol forward to staying in touch”. Maybe he will come back as VFL coordinator with next coach. Every one seemed to really like him.

I'm fully in the Gruden camp for several reasons, the main one being a Tennessee connection. As tenuous as it is, he at least has some history to knowing who we are, what we were, and what we are supposed to be. He has family that is invested in this University. We have gotten away from that connection, and no longer know who we are. That's important to me. Add in his experience, and his name and you have an instant shot in the arm to a failing program.

There are others, who I am sure would be wildly successful here....those are the ones on my personal list. But JG, to me, is the only one that checks off the intangible boxes that will help bring back the greatness we have previously enjoyed.

We will likely have other opportunities in the future to infuse some Orange blood back into the program...but he seems to be the only one suited for today.

It’s beautiful here. I actually prefer it over living in the Keys. But you’re right about Tennessee.....I feel blessed to have been born and raised in our great state of Tennessee. Nothing like it!

I will end up back there with my wife and 2 year old son before it's all said and done.... and hopefully it'll be: SOON.

Or it may mean that his displeasure is so great that he wanted to make his opinions public while they were still relevant and also distance himself from Butch. Who knows, Gruden may already be planning to bring him back.

Sad that this is what our beloved University has come to.We just seem so incompetent.I've never seen more rich and educated people not be able to make simple decisions..Smdh I understand it's not that cut n dry but this is getting beyond ridiculous.Longer this goes on,worse things get.

Why would Antone Davis know anything?
