He said they are keeping everything super close, but he is going to a function tonight with what he called "The powers that be" and said he hopes more information comes out in the next few days. "Watch out for FL he said, they have the cash and would love to sink their teeth into our guy. "

TIFWIW but this guy I spoke to has his last name on a few buildings down there and donates more than all of us combined.

I should also add that Gruden is #1 on this guys list o.0

Interesting. Can't imagine Gruden ever being in play for UF.

There has to be somebody else that's a wow hire that both schools could be after...

Good afternoon all. Been lurking on here for a week or so trying to figure this one out. Let me start by saying my wife works for UT. Will not say title, but pretty high up the ranks. She does deal with funding though, and has heard nothing. My question is if Gruden is our guy would it not make sense to finish the season with Jones and wait till NFL season is over. That way Gruden gets to finish season and we get our recruits? It is not a sprint if you want to build a dynasty.

If you read AV words that way, I suggest you re-read and ask questions because this deal is not dead. I will also say if by chance it is dead, UT will be having to replace a whole bunch of dang money of prior boosters....IMHO !

It's not only not a done deal, but it may be in trouble of not happening. Better?

For weeks now I've been lurking (mostly) in the Gruden threads. Occasionally I'll go out to the Football forum and maybe even read through a couple of threads. When I do, I feel almost like I'm cheating on my wife or something because I'm not in this thread reading and staying up to date.

Did you just read Atlanta Vol's post? Haslam has been the problem behind the dumpster fire of the last decade for football. He wants to hire and then control every damn coach we have-how's that going currently?

I did but I don't believe it. Big Jim didn't hire Lane Kiffin, that was Hamilton's guy from the start. He didn't hire Derek Dooley that was a rush hire. CBJ may have been his guy but to blame the total ineptness from the AD all on the Haslams is silly. He didn't hire Donny Tyndall or Holly Warlick either nor did he force Pearl to lie to the NCAA.

I would be. The details are too carefully planned. MIT is here for a purpose as SFD has said all along. Whoever he his doesn’t matter. Who he is here representing does. He has been a member since 2012 and just started posting in October. This has been carefully planned out.

Just remember. "Wow" is in the eye of the beholder. What they consider to be a "wow," might not move anybody else's needle.

I can't tell if what AtlantaVol said is supposed to make me feel better or much, much worse. So according to ATLVol, talks with Gruden are pretty much stalling and we are going after someone else now? So just like in 2012.....at least that was my take away from it.

After being at 5% for about 30 minutes, I am back at 95%. I just cant go against the Beav here until he's out.

Think I am going to hold at 40% for a while.... I don't trust the so called 85% being able to pull it off

I believe Beaver thinks they can, and I believe the plan is in place... I am unsure of the success of it!

If it’s a private sale, I have no way of knowing who the agent is. If it’s listed in the Knoxville MLS, the status should be “Pending” and any Knoxville Realtor should be able to see that.

If it’s Pending in MLS, the Realtor “shouldn’t” give specifics about the sale until closing - at least that’s the way it is here.

I'm not a member of the Knoxville MLS either. If it is listed with a real estate company it will be on Realtor.com. If you know the address you can check there and it should show the status of the property as either active, pending, or sold.
