just an experiment to see if i get the quote and the qoute he quoted. nothing to see here. move along.

that's what i thought.

so unless i want to chase down the quoted quote, quote that, then come back and quote the next quote, then post my comment, then i can just copy and paste the quoted quote and quote the quote, and post my comment.

sweeet!

further strengthens the idea.

Yes it does. Also shows that he has not been out recruiting in over a month. Wonder why that is. Hmmm

He definitely was not playing well. I actually made a comment to a buddy about it during the game. But I couldn’t tell that he was concussed. Just thought he was having a bad game.

As did I. I didn't see him take an unusual hit, did you?

Asking for a friend beav..what are the odds that he is now fired for cause after the game on Sunday?..Or does he ride out the trash fire. Is this what happened on Sunday?..They stopped because this happened?

If he's fired for cause it would be immediate.

Hard to understand that one for sure.

If there wasn't a readily apparent injury it is quite possible the docs weren't focusing on him for a possible head injury. The coaches could then keep BK away from docs and fail to report what they observed. I would imagine that everyone on that sideline has an obligation to watch for and report concussion like symptoms.

Sorry this is long, but hey I broke it up and it isn't one giant paragraph.

Something I just realized, which has probably been in one of the 10,000 posts in these threads...

If a coach is fired/announced as not returning, multiple things can start happening:
1. Said coach can be rumored/linked to other programs
2. Current coaching staff can be rumored/linked to other programs
3. Interested coaches can be linked to the opening/upcoming opening

By not firing CBJ, nor announcing he is not returning, you prevent those 3 things from happening. None of those are happening. There is no rumor mill, nothing on the major sites from what I can tell.

No coach nor their agent is going to leak to their media friends that they have interest in the UT job when there isn't an official opening. It's an unwritten rule of coaching. You don't pursue someone else's job while they're still in it. It's a bad look. Likewise, it would seem unwise for the current staff's agents to leak to their media friends (in targeted other markets where they'd like to land) that they are going to be available... because they aren't currently available. And it's the middle of the season. Distraction for your program and the one you want to land at.

Now, onto interim coaches. I don't know how rare it is, but I'd bet sometimes you take the interim job in hopes of earning the full-time gig. Depends on a lot of factors, why the head coach is being fired. For example: personal misconduct vs. the whole program being a dumpster fire.

If the whole program is a dumpster fire, it's unlikely even if you do an amazing job, that you get the full-time gig. AD most likely wants to clean house anyways.

Of course another reason to not take the interim job would be if you know there is no way you're getting the job... because it's already filled. So why take on the added stress, the (minor) black marks on your resume, etc.?

I just keep coming back to either Currie is a genius and has this on lockdown or we are literally the most dysfunctional university on the planet. Here's to hoping it is the former...
