You guys remember when the Gruden thread was the happiest place on Volnation? Now we have trolls in here pissing on everything. We can’t have nice things

I still have Phil's last show on my dvr. Most women go for Beaches or Steel Magnolias when they are looking for a good cry. I watch that when I'm looking for one.

Mike Griffith is Butch’s boy. He was been on national TV multiple times defending him....if he is reporting he is about to be gone it’s for real happening!

I do not post on message boards but have been a Vol since early 80 and been reading Volnation for what seems like almost as long. This whole situation stinks to high heaven and I felt the overwhelming need to email Mr Currie and Mrs Davenport...here is what I sent and I encourage you to do the same:

Mr. John Currie...Do you watch the news? Or are you much like your mentor Mike Hamilton and ignore the writing on the wall? My money will no longer support the university after my daughter graduates. I have one more school aged daughter that I would have loved to be Vol but no more. It embarrasses me so much that after the South Carolina game I apologized to many of my daughters friends on behalf of the Vols of old because they don't remember when Shields Watkins was completely full and we could count on a win against Bama on the 3rd Saturday in Oct. and much less South Carolina. Mr. Currie you have all the cards and it is my hope that you have a winning hand. FIRE BUTCH!!! These student athletes deserve better and so does all of Volunteer Nation.

He had 6 Big Ten Conference championships, 2 BCS championships (if you count the vacated one), and a a career record of 229–79–2, or 241-79-2 if you count the vacated wins. With Ohio State, he was 94-22 (106-22). I just don't see another coach out there that can really match that record, and I don't know why he isn't discussed more.

You offer no evidence to this theory, you promote someone else when there are plenty of threads already doing that

No scolding here. Ive been an anti Butch guy for a looong time. But you still have to do things correctly. I dont like losing to anyone, but sometimes stuff happens. No need to be childish about it. Its clear its time to move one, butbif waiting a while gives us a better deal money wise or anything esle, then so be it

An analogy, if you will:

Suppose you have a ship that needs a new engine because the old one is just a clunker. But the new engine won't be delivered for months. The ship also has a leak and is taking on water and if not fixed, irreparable damage will occur. The smart move is to patch the leak immediately instead of waiting for the new engine to arrive and doing both jobs at the same time.

For the analogy challenged:
The ship=UT football
Clunker engine=Butch
New engine=Gruden
Leak=lost recruits
