The article about the Gruden offer was dropping an ace on the table. It was a call on the utad bluff.

With the Gruden numbers leaking out they are saying fine if you wont take our guy at 10mil then enjoy finding a benchwarmer for that because now that they know what we will pay they wont accept less.

See that is the opinion of someone from academia because they are used to the world giving them everything. They are privileged. Those of us that work in the real world and earn our keep understand what it takes to earn that money.

Yes the AD shares with the academic side. Doug Dickey used to say that UT is a big beautiful mansion but UT football is the front porch. The shift in thinking is to get the Academic side to understand that successful athletic departments creates more revenue to share versus keeping the athletic dept on a small budget and not being successful. Yes that is how it used to be.
