Official Jon Gruden Thread XXIV

Really not sure what you mean here. Are you suggesting DTO is some sort of emotional puppetmaster? I don't see how he could get any more bland in how he presents his info, other than just not saying anything at all. I'd use my eyeroll gif but..twice in one night seems excessive. :)

Well, I guess I'm just emotional. Who isn't after a loss to Kentucky. Add alcohol to the mix and otherwise reasonable people are wielding torches. I think every "insider" is an emotional puppet master man. Everyone in this forum hangs on their very word. Sitting on the toilet for 2 hours, neglecting responsibilities, etc.

Gruden wants to be our coach, the money, and the requirements are there. Boosters have both a carrot and a stick for the AD. The stick is big enough to ensure that the AD will take the carrot hence my 100% confidence.

And for the folks who want to hyper analyze everything I say-

Carrot = Gruden paid for by boosters + all of the additional revenue Gruden brings to UT.

Stick = Completely cutting off donations and support to the university worth many millions + decreases in football revenue because Volnation is apathetic.

MIT..there is always the possibility an arrogant administration calling that bluff. Is Gruden willing to wait it out if no decision is made until after the season? DTO I hope you are right and that everytbing falls into place.

Oh, by the way. I know this loss sucks and everyone is so concerned about whats gonna happen next(we all are). I have never been one to look at a football game and at the end point out some bright spots... point out things that are a ray of sunshine even if we lost.... but DAMN our Runningbacks are 100 percent legit. Every single one. Even our Freshman runningbacks appear to be better than they should be considering all this coach and offensive scheme dumpster fire.Lol, just realized I could get my point across with out this big of a message. So here is what im saying.. Gillespie 100 percent needs to stay. This coach makes running backs good enough to overcome our stubborn head coach and his 5 star ability to **** **** up and ruin games that our players give every ounce of effort to win.

Understandable. But take some advice from a fellow fan, things are going to get better. Currie was not going to fire him on the field. Wake up tomorrow fresh and let's see what happens!

I agree, I think Robert Gillespie has totally earned a fair shot at staying on board, assuming he would want to. Our backs look great, even with sorry line play.

Totally agree on the rb's, they're really the only good thing we've got going right now. I would love for Gillespie to stay on board. Imo the players really look up to and respect him. At this time, I wouldn't mind him being the interim when the ax finally falls. Jmo

SOON

Gillespie seems to be the only coach on that staff worth his salt. I still can't help but think of that POS saying he was going to assemble the best coaching staff in the country SMDH !!

The disparity between the west and the east has been coaching not talent. When we and floriduh finally get it right as Georgia has already we will surpass the west as Saban retires and aubarn and lsu slips into the rut we just evacuated. SOON!

Hey so what's up with the Managing Editor for 247 trashing us on Twitter? Doesn't seem like a good idea for the Managing Editor of a sports site to call a fanbase "losers", "idiots", "Dumbest fanbase on earth", and call a program "trash".

MIT_Beaver what's your thoughts on this?

BUBBA's previous post. Had to copy/paste because the thread is locked

I was just getting caught up for the day and came across this. I've been laying low after the attempted Beaver outing. (And to avoid saying the wrong thing at a sensitive time that could result in a Peyton-led horde of angry beetles hunting me down.)

Most people are asleep now, but maybe you'll see this tomorrow. Just wanted to remind you there's much more at play than the Peyton/Gruden relationship. That's obviously vitally important, but you have to keep in mind it's not just about convincing Gruden. He would expect certain changes to be made, and some in the UT administration aren't easily swayed by words alone, even Peyton's. And, like it or not, they have to be convinced in other ways if this is all going to work.

Very concerning. Especially since we've been here before. SMH
