BUBBA's previous post. Had to copy/paste because the thread is locked
I was just getting caught up for the day and came across this. I've been laying low after the attempted Beaver outing. (And to avoid saying the wrong thing at a sensitive time that could result in a Peyton-led horde of angry beetles hunting me down.)
Most people are asleep now, but maybe you'll see this tomorrow. Just wanted to remind you there's much more at play than the Peyton/Gruden relationship. That's obviously vitally important, but you have to keep in mind it's not just about convincing Gruden. He would expect certain changes to be made, and some in the UT administration aren't easily swayed by words alone, even Peyton's. And, like it or not, they have to be convinced in other ways if this is all going to work.
Another Bubba post. If Gruden is hired his contract will be public because he will be a state employee. Could be an interesting read.
If Gruden accepts the deal we've prepared for him, he'll almost certainly be the highest paid coach in the country (although it wouldn't all be in USD).
Going back you can see how Bubba and Beaver's posts are interlaced. If they're right UT has no other option but to take "the carrot."
All those days of doing military analysis..who knew.
Good morning, everyone!
I woke up at 4 AM completely unable to go back to sleep like a kid on Christmas morning. I believe we will learn that Butch is no longer with us later today or at tomorrow's regularly scheduled press conference.
I think the Beav's posts and tweets over the last 24 hours have been the most believable ones yet. Funny how some on here think they show him to be a troll. All he's doing is revealing his motive. Last time the boosters' negotiations with Gruden were kept quiet so everyone could save face. This time the boosters want to be sure everyone knows who is responsible if this doesn't happen. I don't blame them.
I think Currie is a man who works quickly. And if the major pieces have been worked out already, I believe we could have this wrapped up in time for my brother to be Gruden for Halloween (all he needs is a visor). I have no insider knowledge on that, just a hunch.
I think the pieces are coming together for a bright future for the university of Tennessee.
Good morning VFLnSFD, first, how were the wings? Second, I was drug away to a concert last night and haven't kept up with the board. Can someone recap Beavers tweets and posts, or should I just wait for Grand Vol to wake up?

\The wings were fantastic! Thanks for asking. Double frying really is the key to crispy wings.
Basically the Beav just laid out that the boosters have completely negotiated the deal with Gruden. Ready for signatures. He said that his confidence comes from the fact that the major boosters are ready to deny any future funding if this doesn't happen. He used a carrot and stick analogy. The AD can't continue to function without the support of those boosters so there really isn't a choice.
