This is probably the worst I've felt about UT football since 2001. Ever since that LSU game, where LSU kept running the same play over and over, and LSU coaches were up in the box giggling "Do it again, do it again" I have had a lot of apathy towards UT football.

And the Bama loss was the least of the problems. That's saying something. You also got stuff like this:

There is going to be (and already is) a whole generation of kids that don't know that Tennessee football can be really damn good, so they are going to settle for mediocrity. That hurts.

Most of those kids are wearing Alabama gear now. UT does not have a clue what this costing them as a program.

Well if i don't hear news by next Sunday then I'll guess I'll have to wait and see what's new in December. Thanks to boot camp lol. I have 8 more days of cell phone access so let's see what happens. If it isn't gruden then give me VFL ties

I have to say, I took one for the team a few minutes ago. Very seldom do I feel like an idiot as much as I do in this moment. I called a pilot store in Knoxville, apologized for my question first, but that I had to ask. " A rumor has been circulating on message boards that Corp has asked that all Butch Jones items be taken down. Is there any truth to it? Taken back by his immediate response..."are you talking about the Tennessee coach?" I said yes, he said they have not received that info, if the decision was made over the weekend, they wouldn't get that info till Monday... :spank:

Your hazing is now complete.

I haven’t posted in a couple days because the new arriving trolls were making their very specific predictions based on information they said they were trusted to know and were then oh so willing to join a message board and spill all those details because they cared so much about those members of the forum. :eek:k::clapping::eek:k: give me a bleeping break.

I’m going to leave my opinion here. It’s NOT based on anything but my own formed opinion!

I believe it’s a good thing Butch wasn’t fired Johnny on the spot. I want him to be because this season is shot to hell largely due to him. However, I believe Currie is shrewd. From a practical standpoint, the reason you’d fire him today is because ultimately he’s gonna cost butts in seats. But, you don’t have a home game next Saturday. You let him suffer through the mess of his own making. Yeah compliance is good and academics are ok. But he’s making all that jack to coach football at a traditional SEC powerhouse, and at that he sucks. Yet you have a team and recruiting class to keep together, and a buyout to consider. Given all this, why would you keep him on? He better work his ass off to keep that recruiting class and earn those millions in at least that way. After Kentucky, with a home game coming up, you make your move.

And, most important, you’d keep him on because you already have your replacement signed and sealed in principle. You actually don’t have the pressure of firing him today.

I realize this theory has many holes in it. But I believe that’s the situation. It’s just an opinion.

Just sat down next to a bunch of Vols big wigs at the Bob Evans here in Huntersville NC and they were lol'ing and the waitress asked what was so funny and they were like "Were Vol big wigs and OMG we got gruden!"

True story. I'll post a screen cap of my location if no one believes me.

Just give us a pic of your vehicles registration with a hairy Sasquatch arm covering it. That will work.

What I don't understand is how we went from wonderful Gruden rumors even from people who had previously said that wouldn't happen to he's not coming because the Haslams want him at Cleveland (per Hutch). When just yesterday Hutch said to "relax". Gruden doesn't want to coach in college I know LWS has said multiple times yet we give him a Saban like offer twice? And now we go from backing up the Brinks truck to falling way down our list already. Something does not make sense here. And all the while we still have a head coach who hasn't been fired or resigned. What the hell is going on?!

If you believe anything in this or the previous 19 "Official Gruden" threads you need help. It's just for entertainment purposes.

Chowderhead. Quit hitting on the wimmin 'round here and you'll have time for the more important stuff, like spending my money.

You answered. I'll keep you updated.

This is just for you, so nobody else read it. I wouldn't totally discount the Scott Frost line, and assuming JG is out of the picture, which for reasons beyond me I just can't quite do...yet...I'd start sniffing around for any NFL OC's or DC's that Peyton is particularly close to. Just seems like a logical line to at least consider, if...IF...Peyton has a voice in the search.

I'll stick to my belief that LWS is worth listening to.

As always, JMO, and Go Vols.

I don't think Frost would be a horrible hire in the least. Especially if they keep winning. Frankly, not my first choice, but he certainly could win here with that offense. Lord only knows we could use a touchdown here and there...

Frost and Norvell are two cuts of the same cloth IMO. Both are offensive minded, QB driven coaches that will be coaching at a P5 school next year or year after at the most. I have this feeling Arky will make a run at Norvell before the year is over since Bert's on his way out it would seem. Nebraska will court Frost who, if it came down to it, would probably pick the Huskers over the Vols due to school loyalty.

Not many G5 coaches this year making big waves other than those two and Charlie Strong. A few names at the P5 level that are making noise, but money being the issue in buying out contracts and taking a chance on them in the SEC.

It'll be a few weeks now. Kentucky is like us vs UF. They'll find a way to lose. We wont lose again until LSU IMO. fml

Well there goes my e-cred.... lol :)

Was told that by a man that is supposed to be in-the-know, unsure where he got his information?

his buyout is 2.5 million per year based on contract date which runs from March 1 to end of Feb each year. If fired prior to a March 1 date, then he will be paid a prorated amount per day of that 2.5 million for that year he is fired.

Can Arkansas afford the buyout?

Thanks.... that actually makes sense :)

If were waiting for a loss to fire him we have a problem. A administration and booster problem. I don't believe that, and pray that is not true. SOON!!!!! GBO!!!!! VFL!!!!!

You heard any rumblings this weekend? Everyone knew we would lose. No one knew their 2nd and 3rd string was going to beat our ****ing breaks off for 95% of the second half.
