I like Gruden as much as the next guy but the reality is that he is also a gamble. He has been retired for a decade, never coached a college team nor had to recruit at this level. His NFL career was marginal at best, a little over .500 for his 11 yrs as head coach. Now I got that he is a Super Bowl coach but for argument sakes, Fulmer is a (1) National Championship, (2) SEC Champs, (5) SEC East Champs, and a College Football Hall of Famer. Not saying I want Fulmer back but as for coaching record, he blows Gruden out of the water and nobody wants Fulmer around our program. My point is, Fulmer is proven and people say he couldn’t bring us back to the glory days however, Gruden with much less success is a “homerun” hire. This is ridiculous, there are better names out there that are proven at the collegiate level.

If it works let me know, I’ll try it with my checkbook!

Sigh, another non-believer

No, just a realist. Someone please explain what he has done at the college level to warrant such a high level of respect. There are many examples of NFL & College coaches that have failed miserably when switching between the two, Saban and Spurrier being the two most notable.

Aside from hiring Nick Saban, they're all gambles. You never know how things will work out.

Every new coach is a gamble. I'm willing to take this one.

Angler, I just can't even engage you on this. All I can say is if you truly think a coach who won a Super Bowl isn't proven enough for COLLEGE, you really need to find another thread.

I believe that nothing happens today except Butch Jones weekly press conference. I think Boro and DTO are just messing with everyone.

In fairness to them, they didn't mention Butch being fired today. DTO actually thinks he'll be let go later in the season

I have no insider info, but I doubt anything will happen the Monday before Bama. It would have happened Sunday. If it's still crickets this time next week, then I'll get nervous.

I think it is fair to call Gruden a homerun hire, a grand slam even, but he is not a slamdunk.

Hahaha. Those key chains though... My oldest 2 kids are 12 and 11 and showed it to them for the first time a few weeks back. They now go around quoting the movie. My wife doesn’t share the same humor as us and just doesn’t get it. Lol.

Best comedic sit com?
I’m going with:
1. The Office
2. New Girl
3. Last Man Standing

King of Queens is awesome! But I do love The Office.
