I'm sure you've never made a typo or had autocorrect mess with your typing. We all should be as perfect as you. Ironic someone that spells life with a "y" jumps on someone for making a typo.

And the article. I think there are just some random people picked.

Tennessee Vols: What Jon Gruden's Staff Could Look Like

ETA: The list:

Offensive coordinator/wide receivers: Tee Martin
Quarterbacks: Tim Berbenich
Running backs: Jay Graham
Offensive line: Jeff Jagodzinski
Tight ends/special teams: Ron Middleton
Defensive coordinator: Love Smith
Linebackers: Hardy Nickerson
Defensive line: John Scott Jr
Defensive backs: Raheem Morris

This would bring rings and a lot of money to the University within 2-3 years. Offer 10 million a year and the $$$ ability to choose this "kind of staff"..Level... I myself would look at Lovie Smith not Love Smith. Can you imagine the ROI? There would be a Gruden Statue and street re-named "Currie Court" 3 rings within 7 years

Yeah I think the author is just throwing a bunch of sh*t against the wall. Lovie Smith is going to resign as head coach at a P5 program to take a DC job? And there are some pretty obvious names that he left off.

I would be surprised to see any incoming coach (Gruden or not) not take a hard look at retaining Gillespie at RB. Not saying they wouldn't keep him, but if there's one portion of the offense that's performed, it's the running game.

I would hope he'd get good look by anyone taking the job.

Which does bring the point of discussion.

What staff might be retained by an incoming HC? Gillespie is the obvious choice for both RB development and recruiting. But who else?

This is speculation only; I have no inside sources.

If it is true that the AD is removing all internal political barriers
If it is true that the money, regardless of the amount needed, is pledged
If it is true that Currie has a big swinging dick and a monster ego
If it is true that the #1, #2, and #3 targets are Gruden, Gruden and Gruden
If it is true that Peyton is acting in the capacity of Sheriff and is helping us woo Gruden to UT and not to Indianapolis

Then I put our chances at 80% of landing him

Have a Grude Morning! Carry on!

Maybe Charlton Warren, he seems highly respected in the profession. Honestly I think that might be it though.

1. Optics of firing. Hate to say it, but it is an anticipated ugly loss.
2. Butch made a point when he was hired to say that the end goal was championships. Championships mean you have to beat Bama. Butch is O-fer.
3. Bad look to saddle either an interim or new full time coach with a Bama beat down. This loss needs to be totally on Butch, as the architect of our current situation. Think of this game as an emphatic period at the end of the Butch Jones era.

Impeccable logic.

If it's true Shoop has been handcuffed his entire stay (Penn St. lawsuit settled? pending would explain staying in lieu of handcuffed....) by Butch; then I could see an offensive minded HC keeping Shoop.

I think Gruden would want to remove any and all negativity associated with this program. That would include removing entire staff and starting with a clean slate regardless of any talent.

Any coach brought in will want "his guys" so unless he is familiar with anyone currently on staff then they are likely all gone

If it's true Shoop has been handcuffed his entire stay .

The only thing that has handcuffed Shoop is the absence of SEC talent and/or depth at linebacker and in the defensive backfield. Injuries, bad position coaches and/or bad recruiting have left him devoid of speed and talent at those positions.

If he can get Morris, then I believe Warren would be gone. If not I wouldn't mind seeing Warren stay.

True, although I don’t know how he would structure his staff. Remember starting next season there will be ten full time assistants instead of nine. So I guess he could have a cornerbacks coach as well as a safeties coach.

Possibly, although he might want to bring in his own guy. If Gruden is hired, keep your eye on Jim Leavitt. They’ve been friends for a long time.
