If you would read the original post that I was responding to you would see that the poster listed 4 reasons for Gruden wanting to coach UT.
1.) wife
2.) land
3.) GA under Majors
4.) loves Tennessee

Reasons #2 & #4 "sounds more like a retirement plan". Hence my analogy between current and future plans for Jon Gruden. It was a joke, lighten up Francis...

I understand but this article was from Jan this year, and says he wants to coach in NFL again...... it only proves he wants to coach again.... Will he coach in NFL again.... I believe so but that doesn't say he will never coach at UT...

Maybe he doesn't, but don't let that discourage you, it was in reply to a poster who said Gruden was thinking retirement :hi:

Most of us in here know the chance of landing Gruden is very slim, but if there is a chance we MUST take it.......... When I married my wife she was a long shot for someone like me and deserved much better...... BUT if I had never taken a chance and asked, I would have not married her and she certainly could have married someone else...

We now have 2 children and five grandchildren and have been married for 46 years... It all happened because I took a chance..

That is all I hope for from Currie and company..... shoot for the stars, take a chance who knows where it goes

Jeeze you Grudes are an uptight bunch. Perhaps you're correct, I don't really want to be in VOL greatness exile until Jonny comes marching home again. Here's to hoping we all live that long 🥃 Best Wishes in snagging Gruden. I'd truly love to have him here if can resurrect our program.

We agree........ as far as I am concerned I don't mind honest discussion but we are attacked daily by trolls who simply come in here and make jokes because we want the VERY BEST for our team

To most of us in this thread, the very best=Gruden
