Big money buys access...to the locker room, to the coaches, to the players...everything. It strokes their egos.

Hopefully after Currie gets this deal done then he can get serious and work on replacing Holly and Barnes too! Holly is terrible and Barnes should be retired by now.

Honestly, disagree here. Most of us realize Bama is going to be a beat down of Biblical proportions. And I really doubt anyone would hold that against an interim.

But...

If for some reason an interim or new coach made that a competitive game? It goes a long way in showing where the program is and what talent was being wasted

Can't forget John Anderson and Dwight Yoakam. Chris Stapleton has some decent stuff as well as Midland.

The only motive I can come up with, keeping in mind that I am intellectually feeble, is that other programs are concerned with with our rapid rise to the top of the football world and seek to keep us in a perpetual rebuilding mode.

I believe it's how Butch sets you up for his evil form of mind control.. You watch the game on Saturday. On Sunday, the second part of the treatment comes in the form of the Butch Jones Show. Loaded with coded messages, in the form of Butchisms, one is helpless to resist. Who knows the extent of the damage that has been inflicted on unsuspecting Vol fans.. Law suits may be in order..

I take your point, but I believe the feeling is that there is really zero benefit to having anyone besides Butch coach the Bama game. Details are being worked out for a new hire. At this point, the team is what it is. Even if we had a hire locked down before Bama (unlikely), a week of coaching won't accomplish diddly.

Butch is being forced to own the coming beat down.
