At least there is a link to our thread!!!!

We are famous... and this quote "It?s low. It?s not zero, because most human beings can be bought off if you?re willing to pay them enough money to do something, and I don?t know how much Tennessee would offer. "

I don't think I like others knowing where we are. They will just come in here all NegaGrudey.

I know this thread isn't really set up for logical thinking, but how do we square Finebaum having talked to a couple of UT people and saying Gruden was target number 1, while AtlantaVol (evidently well connected per some in here) saying no he's not under consideration?

Finebaum just going for ratings?

any updates man. I was reading everybody is freaking out about what AtlantaVol said that gruden isn't in the list...do you believe that?

Don't know...I've said that all along. Nobody I've talked to is naming names.

I will say, it has been deafeningly quiet since Friday.

Maybe who they are talking to weren't at the meetings fixing the problems and getting everyone on board?

So that would mean that their "sources" are guessing just like rest of us. I would guess that less than a dozen people actually know who is on that list.

There is no excuse as to why Gruden or Kelley can't be Tennessee's next head coach. Neither are attached to a school and only Gruden has a contract to buy out of.

If UT is really serious about winning one of those 2 should be our next hire. All it takes is balls and money, UT has the money so...

Well it takes one of them to say yes too. It's way more then just about money.

I understand that but a lot of the issues that held us back in the past from neing attractive to a big time coach seem to have been resolved.

I think money was far down the list of issues.

Edit.. falling under the balls category would be letting the coach have control of the program with minimal meddling from the AD and boosters.

Who knows. I'd venture to say nobody outside of the AD and BOT knows anything about when or how this is going to go down. Almost every bit of this is speculation. We won't know or hear anything concrete until after Butch is fired. Wish they would hurry up and just do it already.

With Peyton having maybe a bigger role and influence this time around who do you think fits his model for success as far as football philosophies and pedigree? Gruden yes, but who else?

Gruden like you said obviously, Kelly wouldnt fit Peytons philosophy but he would be an instant fit as to the pieces we have our roster with the RPO offense. Other name I think would fit the bill is Jim Bob Cooter and Les Miles. Tee Martin would be on but he has not HC experience and is relatviely new to the OC position as it is.
